What you’ll be doing...

The Lead Outside Plant Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the fiber build.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. Managing the design, build, splicing, delivery, budgets and the digital record of the physical OneFiber network. The Lead Outside Plant Engineer will also be responsible for supporting the maintenance and operations of the OneFiber legacy network. You will manage various projects across the market including fiber design and engineering, cost analysis, budget and scope of work creation, bidding and awarding projects and project management of all tasks critical the build. Your work will entail extensive use of 3GIS and work order management in CoFEE. You will also perform site walks and site surveys for new builds as well as conduct physical damage assessments. You will engage with all levels of agencies including,

Municipalities, ODOT, WSDOT, large Public and Private Utilities, engineering firms, contractors and customers.

• Managing all engineering and construction activities of assigned projects associated with expanding and maintaining the OSP network infrastructure.
• Driving complex projects and programs to achieve targeted and measured business goals and key objectives.
• Coordinating project activities with contractors, developers, municipalities and consultants.
• Identifying, monitoring, reporting and escalating project-related issues to achieve timely resolution.
• Developing and implementing corrective action plans to mitigate impact to project schedules and overall business objectives.
• Utilizing project tracking tools and systems to accurately document milestones completions, project issues, corrective action plans, project jeopardies, and overall project completions.
• Engaging appropriate internal and external organizations and individuals with professional written/verbal communications to accomplish required tasks.
• Proposing solutions supported by sound engineering and operational productivity to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
• Recognizing vulnerabilities in network infrastructure and makes intelligent decisions to ensure reliability – within financial constraints.
• Preparing detailed cost analysis, project specifications, spend forecasts, route mapping, requisitions, and business justifications.
• Processing reports, vendor invoices, material receipts, and other administrative duties.
• Communicating project status and progress to team members and customers.
• Responding immediately to network outages, coordinating necessary resources and activities for prompt and appropriate restoral.

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Technical or project management experience.

Even better if you have:

• Experience with CAD, 3GIS, ArcGIS, or other mapping and drafting software.
• Experience with Data and Reporting Tools; CoFEE, Tableau, Fiat, Fuze, Google G-Suite applications.
• Verbal and written skills for cross-organizational communications.
• Strong organization skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion.
• Experience making independent decisions based on policies, practices and project requirements
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
