What you’ll be doing...

The Manager Business Operations will support the Professional Services (PS) organization in the Verizon Business Group (VBG). This candidate will play a key role on the leadership team and navigate a broad range of complex business and management challenges, collaborating across a variety of business partners to champion communications and leadership initiatives.

  • Manage communication flow to ensure accuracy and transparency; help create the vision for the team and architect communication strategies.
  • Manage executive meeting agendas and action items, including negotiating specific agenda items and managing schedule changes.
  • Facilitate timely execution of data / materials collection for leadership meetings, reviews, and presentations.
  • Manage executive slide development, including building from scratch, adapting existing formats, clarifying requirements, incorporating updates, and providing feedback.
  • Recognize criticality of time sensitive turnaround times for executive materials and requests; ensure all timelines are met or exceeded.
  • Develop an Employee Engagement and Employee Communication plan for the full year to include All Hands meetings, Round Tables, Pulse Action Plans, change management and other initiatives. Drive execution in partnership with HR and the PS Leader.
  • Build excellent working relationships with non-reporting teams of all levels to achieve project goals.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of communications project development and design experience, preferably with Consulting or Professional Services experience.
  • Experience with G Suite, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and Slack; expert in PowerPoint presentations.
  • Project management experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience required; Masters / MBA.
  • Strong business acumen, with broad understanding of business operations.
  • People leadership/People Management experience with proven ability to coach/develop and nurture teams; you like working with people.
  • Strong relationship building skills across all levels and able to lead through influence.
  • A strong strategic, global thinker who possesses the confidence and composure required to influence senior leaders and effectively communicate across a diverse set of constituents.
  • Executive presence and proven ability to establish and maintain rapport with people of diverse backgrounds and professional levels.
  • Detail-oriented, excellent judgment, independent thinker, and resourceful.
  • Ability to anticipate needs and to act proactively, ensuring compliance with non-reporting, cross-functional team members of all levels, including executives.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to manage and drive change.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within time constraints and manage multiple projects.
  • Comfortable taking on new technical or management skills with minimal prep in exceedingly short time.
  • Strong consulting skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Oral and written communication skills, including advanced presentation creation skills.
  • Mastery of grammatical and spelling standards.
  • Impeccable integrity required for handling confidential information.
  • Proven expertise influencing key stakeholders and senior leaders through relationships, expertise, and data.
