What you’ll be doing...

We are looking for an experienced software executive to lead a global team of engineers building solutions for the mobile workforce.

The role is leading engineering for our Enterprise and Compliance groups of over 130 engineers and site leader for our Christchurch office. You will be accountable for the delivery and support of our Enterprise platform and also our Compliance offerings for all business segments.

Technical expertise and a track record in establishing solid DevOps engineering practices (monitoring, availability, performance tuning, designing for scale, continuous deployment and automation) are essential. The successful candidate will be leading teams building on top of the AWS platform leveraging .NET and open source technologies and driving an automation-first approach to delivery. Working in a Lean approach and continually improving how we deliver software at speed will be key responsibilities.

As well as running engineering you will provide site leadership to almost 200 people and help to foster strong relationships with our sites in the US and EMEA. You will be part of the Engineering executive team working with Product and UX to ensure we deliver a world class end to end experience for our customers through our products and help shape the long term vision and strategy

You will be part of a fast-paced product group that plans, designs, develops and provisions innovative customer centric solutions for a variety of connected vehicle systems deployed within a microservices architecture. You must demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, effective decision-making, teamwork, strong leadership, and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for the delivery of our Enterprise & Compliance products
• Providing guidance and direction to C-Level executives and senior stakeholders.
• Building relationships across the business to improve the experience for our customers
• Driving Lean principles and focusing on continuous process improvement.
• Setting and tracking OKRs and monthly targets to build a strong disciplined customer centric culture.
• Staying abreast of the latest trends in the mobile resource management space.
• Working with your leadership team, facilitating discussions, aiding in the decision-making process, documenting/communicating outcomes clearly with your organisation.
• Building and growing high performing teams of innovative professionals by mentoring, coaching and developing internal talent and recruiting industry top talent
• Preparing and optimizing budgets.
• Partnering with vendors to ensure quality of service and value for money
• Provide leadership for the groups in our Christchurch office and partner with the different stakeholders to maintain an inclusive and engaging environment.

What we’re looking for...

Qualifications and experience:

• 10+ years of experience in Senior Engineering roles and at least 3 years leading large organisations of 100+
• Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and procedures.
• Extensive experience in web and mobile technologies in a SaaS environment
• Strong organizational leadership skills and a focus on growing and nurturing talent
• Extensive experience in working with stakeholders to create hiring strategies to build high performing teams.
• Must be knowledgeable about industry trends and best practices
• Experience in IoT, Compliance, Enterprise B2B solutions or Mobile Resource Management a distinct advantage
• Familiarity with OKRs or Hoshin methodology is desirable
• B.Sc (or equivalent) in a relevant technical field preferred – Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering.
• Insight in the principles of a matrix structured organisation and the ability to successfully navigate to obtain optimal team performance.
