What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is looking for a communications lead to join its Corporate Systems Group (CSG) Strategy and Operations team. The CSG team strives to digitize Verizon’s core processes and deliver real-time insights and capabilities. You are responsible for developing and executing a multi-channel communications strategy encompassing each of CSG’s product pillars. The lead develops the CSG branding and drives CSG’s innovation narrative by creating multi-media content, including blog posts, long-form articles, videos, infographics and other visual storytelling assets to deliver successful media campaigns and drive seamless employee engagement on CSG’s most important internal digital and social channels, such as email, intranet, corporate events and social media.

You will focus on the needs of the employee, internal communications within the CIO community as well as external communications to partners and stakeholders. You will organize knowledge sharing, skill development and team-building programs for the growth of the employees. It is important that this candidate promotes diversity and inclusion in the workplace, as well as keeps the engagement programs aligned. The lead will also work with senior leaders to develop professional executive communications. As the channel manager, the lead develops metrics, technology, and industry best practices to create and implement new and innovative communications for evolving media and tools to increase communication effectiveness and promotes CSG as an innovative and exciting place to work.

  • Develop the strategy and execution of CSG’s brand across digital and live channels for internal and external venues.
  • Lead the development and delivery of multi-layered, multi-channel communications campaigns.
  • Communicates ideas creatively and concisely, while adapting messages for all media and audiences including digital, video, and audio.
  • Develop senior leaders communication and partners with, marketing colleagues and other cross-functional partners across the company in their communications efforts in keeping their functions informed of updates and changes in consistent and engaging ways.
  • Develop and manage communications for new products and other announcement-worthy moments working closely with internal business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and thought leaders to develop internal and external content that highlights our purpose-driven projects and diverse culture.
  • Craft and facilitate message development, positioning and speaker/media training for spokespeople.
  • Create, review and edit various kinds of communications such as articles, blogs, emails, talking points, social copy, and more.
  • Create a cohesive strategy and voice for internal announcements at the company to help drive employee engagement, culture and awareness of company strategy and initiatives.
  • Drive alignment to best practices, industry trends in communications.
  • Analyze metrics and integrate into programs to achieve goals, drive culture transformation and support transparency.

Where you'll be working:

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with C-suite executives and create connections across functions and levels.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications technologies.
  • Track record of successful communications programs.
  • Working knowledge of content management systems, HTML coding, and digital graphics production.

Even better if you have:

  • Six or more years relevant work experience in communications planning, channel management, or public relations.
  • Knowledge of copywriting, graphic design, layout, and publishing.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro).
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing.
  • A working understanding of technology/IT solutions environments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different business and technology channels.
  • Impeccable copywriting and copy editing abilities.
  • Verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to tailor the communications style based on the audience.
  • Literacy with communications tools, including Google Suite, MS Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), IM tools (Slack), eCRM tools, video editing.
  • Strong project manager with ability to think independently and prioritize workload based on short- and long-term priorities.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple, simultaneous deliverables.
