What you’ll be doing...

The Gaming & Entertainment team (part of Verizon’s Device & Consumer Product Marketing organization) is charged with connecting consumers with next generation video game experiences that harness the power of Verizon’s 5G network. As a Product Manager, you will be defining and executing on our product roadmap, focusing on new, strategic partnerships with the gaming industry’s leading OEMs, technology providers, service providers, and content publishers. This is a distribution and partnership driven role, and your responsibilities will span the entirety of a product’s lifecycle, including:

• Defining the product strategy: Delivering the vision and rationale behind our team’s portfolio of products. This includes owning the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ of how new products are launched, and creating thorough, research based business cases that maximize return on investment and revenue growth.
• Securing new partnerships: Leading business development by sourcing, nurturing, and acquiring new partners across the gaming ecosystem. Collaborating with our legal and subject matter experts to structure, draft, and execute partnership agreements.
• Acting as the voice of the customer: Leveraging research-based insights to determine how our products and offerings are priced and positioned to meet customer needs. Determining our overall go-to-market strategy and supporting our marketing teams in defining product messaging and value propositions to maximize demand generation.
• Owning the product launch and performance: Providing business and user experience specifications around how customers learn, buy, get, and use our products. Ensuring business priorities, technology capabilities, and operational capabilities (including resourcing, engineering, and marketing operations) are aligned. Tracking and orchestrating daily, weekly, and/or monthly deliverables and stakeholder meetings. Developing mitigation plans when schedules or service quality is at risk. Setting and tracking all product-level OKRs.

Where you'll be working...

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

The ideal candidate is a natural leader, thrives in a highly-matrixed organization, and has the ability to influence and collaborate with a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders, senior leaders, and external partners. You should also be comfortable solving ambiguous problems through data driven analysis and business insights. An understanding of the gaming ecosystem or consumer technology is strongly desired, as you will be the subject matter expert and voice of the consumer when it comes to the latest in gaming platforms, technology, and content.

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Master’s degree – more impressive if you have an MBA.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high-complexity projects.
• Excellent written, presentation, and public speaking skills.
• Expertise in business development, including pitching new vendors/suppliers and negotiating partnership agreements.
• Expertise with Google Suite Tools, including Sheets and Slides.
• Experience within the video game industry or consumer technology, particularly in an OEM distribution, retail, or product marketing capacity.
• Experience with agile/scrum methodologies and working knowledge of Jira.
• Track record of successful new product and/or partnerships launches.
