What you’ll be doing...

The Platforms & Ecosystems organization was formed to advance systems and platforms of Verizon Consumer Group (VCG), support long-term VCG strategy and accelerate our vision of VCG “as-a-platform/as-a-service”. The immediate business needs require a strong digital transformation strategy fueled with AI. Digitalization and AI are the enablers of operational efficiencies and our omni model to support employees and customers. As part of Platforms & Ecosystems, the “Manager Platform Product Strategy” is responsible for developing short term and long term AI & data product strategy and capabilities that align with the future needs of the business.

Part of our strategy consists in developing orchestration, decisioning and foundational capabilities. These capabilities represent logical layers which successively enable business value creation. The successful candidate will:

• Develop a vision for data products that is aligned with and enables the business strategy and outcomes.
• Identify AI and data product opportunities and requirements for VCG and develop strategies that will drive value at-scale.
• Define and scope the use cases and data product capabilities identified, develop the investment case and build the capability in partnership with the Core Build organization.
• Partner with Business Architecture teams to ensure capabilities developed are adhering to the Business Architecture.
• Build relationships with business and technology partners to ensure alignment of strategy and drive collaboration to implement/develop capabilities
• Conduct relevant research to bring awareness of disruptive trends and industry activity that will influence the development of AI and Data products.
• Prepare and execute regular strategy updates to senior management.
• Ensure roadmap and adoption plans are directly in line with business strategy and priorities.

Where you’ll be working:

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience in the telecom industry and/or domain experience (AI-related product development, strategy, retail, marketing).
• Experience with data and analytics strategy.

Even better if you have:

• Five or more years of experience in strategy, consulting or business transformation
• Five or more years of experience in product management or technology management.
• Professional degrees with a combination of business and technical domain expertise.
• Experience in a large, complex organization with service offerings in the U.S.
• Experience across multiple industries and understanding of how technology enables business outcomes and how various parts of a technology ecosystem support business strategy.
• Business, Technical, Digital, and AI Acumen and understanding the business implications of technological changes.
• Demonstrated digital capabilities and understanding of the potential of advanced technologies and AI to create new competitive advantages.
• Experience operating in a complex, changing, dynamic environment.
• Experience across multiple domains, industries, and geographies to understand the implications of decisions across both VCG and Verizon.
• Proven ability to build consensus across various domains of the organization, including driving change in both bottom-up and top-down approaches.
• Excellent analytical, project management, problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently, efficiently and effectively under time constraints and deliver results.
