What you’ll be doing...

As a Senior Manager you will lead a group of software professionals focused on quality assurance and end-to-end testing automation for Verizon’s Commercial Bill to Cash (B2C) application suite. In this role you will be leading the implementation of a brand new end-to-end Testing environment which is expected to drastically improve software quality across the value chain spanning Ordering, Provisioning, Billing and Revenue Booking. You will be responsible for creating a QA Center of Excellence to adopt industry best practices and stand up a world class testing organization that can support the future growth of our business. You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Leadership in design, implementation and operation of the end-to-end testing environment for B2C applications (e.g., Credit, Fraud, Payments, Collections, RA/CA).
  • Partner closely with cross CIO teams (VCG and VBG) to create visibility for changes going into production and ensure testing coverage.
  • Implement a framework to test all trade and non-trade promos across ordering, billing and booking revenue.
  • Create a framework to validate end-to-end customer journeys (e.g., equipment returns, trade-in promos, promo expiry/roll to bill).
  • Actively participate in architecture and design sessions with the engineering and product teams.
  • Certify all Enterprise releases for functional coverage, code quality and performance.
  • Establish a cadence to communicate testing status for critical programs to senior leadership.
  • Manage multiple test environments including SIT, UAT, and E2E to ensure maximum availability.
  • Be a champion for Agile and DevSecOps practices with emphasis on shift-left testing.
  • Automate test case generation and execution by using combination of homegrown tools and best of breed software.
  • Create an exhaustive regression testing suite for all applications and certify them before each production release.
  • Define and track KPIs for the testing practice with a view to continuous quality improvement.
  • Apply AI/ML techniques to optimize the scope, scale and efficiency of testing.
  • Work closely with the application teams to build testing plans prior to each release cycle.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • A passion for technology and a focus on driving world-class customer experiences through high-quality software solutions.
  • Five or more years of experience as a people leader.
  • Experience in leading large projects and supervising agile teams.
  • Continuous focus on improving software quality and predictability of releases.
  • Strong background in DevOps tool chain (e.g., JIRA, Jenkins, Artifactory) as well as testing automation tools (e.g., Selenium/Cucumber).
  • Knowledge of Big Data concepts and experience in executing large-scale performance testing with full data load.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Java, Python).
  • Knowledge of databases and SQL queries.
  • OS/HW: Experience in Linux/Unix open systems and AWS/Google cloud environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex ideas and concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
