When you join Verizon

Verizon is one of the world’s leading providers of technology and communications services, transforming the way we connect across the globe. We’re a diverse network of people driven by our shared ambition to shape a better future. Here, we have the ability to learn and grow at the speed of technology, and the space to create within every role. Together, we are moving the world forward – and you can too. Dream it. Build it. Do it here.

What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is serious about innovation. About being the first and being the best. We are building a future using technologies like 5G, Mobile Edge Computing and Artificial Intelligence that are allowing us to create products that were previously impossible. We’re building tomorrow with the best of today.

5G Disruption is an entrepreneurial team within Verizon's Corporate Strategy & New Business Incubation organization, tasked with seeding the next generation of net-new software businesses for Verizon above the network layer. We're leveraging the power of our networks to create entirely new B2B products and solutions that push beyond our connectivity capabilities and have the potential to create transformational new growth vectors for Verizon.

As a member of the Product team, you will serve as a product visionary for nascent new businesses within 5G Disruption, and will be responsible for building out validated product roadmaps for targeted opportunity areas. In this capacity, you will be asked to translate high-level strategies and hypotheses into marketable products. This is a highly collaborative and cross-functional role, and you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of researchers, engineers, and strategists to iteratively validate and refine key product requirements in the early pre-launch and MVP stages.

You are an explorer and a creator, you enjoy starting at the beginning, reaching into the problem and building your solution with whatever it takes. You enjoy the big questions but are also relentless in your drive towards customer-first solutions. And you understand how to collaborate and inspire others, embracing ambiguity and fostering a culture of learning and fluidity.

  • Develop a deep understanding of strategic objectives and customer needs, and engage at a detailed technical level to derive product requirements.
  • Drive the overall product vision, strategy, and requirements and bridge to launch and commercialization by building initial proofs of concept and minimum viable products in partnership with engineering teams.
  • Distill and prioritize key assumptions and collaborate on designing customer research and technical experiments to validate them.
  • Deliver advances in the product by defining the roadmap, maintaining a deep understanding of competitive offerings and how they impact customer choices and preferences, and how they should influence the product.
  • Define success metrics for initial POCs/MVPs and analyze product performance.
  • Drive feature prioritization and sequencing, balancing customer needs, competitive dynamics, time to market, and ROI.
  • Provide thought leadership on commercialization approach and build/buy/partner decisions.
