What you’ll be doing...

The Corporate Systems Group (CSG) has an opening for a Digital Transformation Blockchain Cloud Architect responsible for strategizing, design thinking and implementing transformational solutions using the Blockchain and Cryptocurrency platform. The Digital Transformation Blockchain Cloud Architect will be responsible for the architecture and implementation of solutions for critical systems using open source stack. This position is a hands-on, self-directed design thinking, risk taker, taking imagination to reality and development of highly scalable, reliable, and performance efficient applications to consume and integrate complex data using AWS and open-source platforms/tools. The successful candidate should have a solid understanding of DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology), corporate networking infrastructure, and working with networking, security and corporate infrastructure teams for conceptualizing, designing and implementation for networks between VZ and partners for the Blockchain network. Extensive hands-on experience in implementing and executing the solutions using one or more Blockchain technologies.

• Responsible for implementing Blockchain technologies across different use cases.
• Provide strategy guidance on selecting and standardizing Blockchain solutions in Verizon
• Work across multiple organizations, such as development, Network, Security, Routing / Switching, etc. to influence end to end designs and corporate strategies
• Lead efforts to develop an understanding of Verizon’s current network infrastructure technologies as well as where Verizon needs to invest (via capital and partnerships) to drive their disruptive transformation.
• Monitor the entire current and future Blockchain infrastructure for applications, scheduled jobs, incident management and receiving incidents and requests from end-users, analyzing these and responding to the end-user.
• Interface with functions within the business including internal and external system architects, product line managers, network operations leads, DevOps leads, and a variety of both business and technical organizations spanning our enterprise. You will have the opportunity to transform long-standing procedures and operations within the organization.
• Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical teams, in internal organizations as well as in client and vendor/subcontractor organizations, to ensure all project targets and requirements are met.
• Partner with vendor and infrastructure teams as needed on technology upgrades, maintenance, and issue resolution.
• Enable the transformation to new DevOps best practices by taking advantage of efficiencies gained by a software defined network which can be programmed and managed through a single orchestration layer.
• Experience with methodologies for software development and delivery, like Agile, SCRUM and similar software test suites.
• Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution using best practices.
• Own the technical relationship with Verizon customers, including managing product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of additional technical resources. Work directly with customers to create solutions and use cases that leverage Verizon product integrations that generate business value.
• AWS network needs to be planned and configured beforehand to ensure we don't change network or firewalls for every change in VZ or Partner infrastructure.
• Contribute to architecture, design, and implementation of a Blockchain environment including but not limited to the consensus layer, distributed ledger, and smart contracts layer.
• Experience developing CI/CD pipelines and operating production systems at scale and reviewing and developing technical architectures.
• Design of cloud environments with a focus on AWS and demonstrate knowledge of Technical Cloud Architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design of production, staging, QA and development Cloud Infrastructures running in 24x7 environments.
• Configure and maintain application servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security. Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
• Work on special projects, lead small teams, or manage routine technical/ operational activities or departments (national or international).
• Provide advice in technical/operational domain of specialization.
• Accountable for individual, team, department results, and for the impact of the results on functional activities.
• Participates in overall departmental Program planning
• Architect the Technical requirements including engagement with networking and security teams on both VZ and Partners, and the need to come up with requirements for network and firewall rules for external and internal networks to make Blockchain work between VZ and Partners.
• Design, build, test, and implement server solutions in both physical and virtual environments using DevSecOps methodology and tools.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience Cloud and open source technologies.
• Experience in development on one of the Blockchain platforms like Hyperledger, Ethereum, R3 Corda, Quorum and experience in development of applications using distributed applications framework like Truffle, Fabric etc.
• Experience with designing and building applications using AWS services.
• Experience in DevOps such as Jenkins, Ansible scripts.
• Experience in Containerization and Orchestration using Docker & Kubernetes.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL database servers, JSON schemas & related technologies (Postgres, MySql, MongoDB, CouchDB or others).
• Experience in all aspects of Security including data at rest/motion, SPI, PCI and Identity Management.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Even better if you have:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
• Strong experience applying Design Thinking principles.
• Experience in modern web development with HTML5, CSS 3, and JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Node.js, Webpack, Gulp, Grunt, Git etc.)
• Experience with methodologies for software development and delivery, like Agile, SCRUM and similar software test suites.
• Experience with languages popular in the DLT space such as JavaScript, Java, Golang, Rust and/or Python.
• Knowledge of general software architecture & software design concepts and experience of applying them in the development of enterprise level software products.
• Experience developing CI/CD pipelines and operating production systems at scale and reviewing and developing technical architectures.
• Experience in enterprise and large scale deployment.
• Experience in architecting, designing and programming applications in an AWS Cloud environment.
• Experience in architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability, and high availability.
• Knowledge and experience in developing applications using Java/GoLang & Spring framework.
• Strong working experience with building Microservices and best practices related to their implementation.
• Experience with billing systems, billing data, revenue systems, and/or revenue assurance/reporting.
• Knowledge of Telco/financial application systems.
