The Finance Organization

At Verizon, we are building a world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. We have begun a comprehensive program to streamline processes, improve systems, realign the organization and add opportunities for personal skill-building and professional growth. FP&A Corporate and Business Unit TeamMove beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. The Business Unit facing positions offer opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business partner and your contributions will make a difference. You’ll become involved in, but not limited to, pricing decisions and new initiatives to develop new products and services. You can have an impact on new business growth opportunities through development of business case scenarios.

  • Owning the development and communication of the plan and forecast, financial reporting, operational analysis and executive reviews for Actuals, Business Plan, Commitment View, and Best View.
  • Acting as a trusted business partner to the GTS-Network Systems operations/development teams, providing proactive financial guidance enabling them to achieve their financial goals.
  • Being a Subject Matter Expert in GTS-Network Systems finance processes and drive continuous improvement and efficiencies.
  • Interpreting and evaluate monthly analyses of business trends, including budget variance of financial results and Key Performance Indicators to identify areas of risk and opportunities and provide recommendations.
  • Assessing the impact of strategic financial decisions and present recommendations to leadership.
  • Assessing apital requirements, develop capital plan and provide recommendations on capital allocation.
  • Completingfinancial plans and analyses that clearly identify the underlying business drivers and key performance metrics.
  • Identifying, quantifying and communicatingfinancial risks and opportunities. Work with the GTS-Network Systems business partners to mitigate risks and opportunities.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Google applications (Sheets, Slides and Docs).
  • Willingness to travel up toapproximately25% of the time.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.
  • Experience with IT financial management
  • Experience and working knowledge of enterprise (e.g., financial systems, budgeting/planning software applications, and business intelligence system, including SAP, Annaplan, Outsource Systems, Essbase, Smart View and Hyperion Planning).
  • Knowledge of Digital Finance applications/tools (e.g. Visualization, Data Analytics, RPA), including Looker.
  • Strategic skills and ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations.
  • Knoewledge of corporate financial planning, reporting & analysis, and costing/profitability methodologies, and processes.
