At Verizon, we are building a world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. We have begun a comprehensive program to streamline processes, improve systems, realign the organization and add opportunities for personal skill-building and professional growth. FP&A Corporate and Business Unit Team

Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. The Business Unit facing positions offer opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business partner and your contributions will make a difference. You’ll become involved in, but not limited to, pricing decisions and new initiatives to develop new products and services. You can have an impact on new business growth opportunities through development of business case scenarios. The areas where you will be responsible for supporting will be in customer Service G&A Forecasting, Budgeting and analysis,Review and assist accounting on month end closing related to G&A accounts, and in Ad-hoc projects.

  • Responsible for monthly and annual forecasting for Call Center operation.

  • FTE Agent staffing methodologies/tracking/forecasting.

  • Track and forecast Telecom spending related to Call Center operations.

  • Review and analyze Call Center and Telecom invoices (cost/usage).

  • Assist Accounting and Carrier Audit departments in preparing JE related to Outsourcing and Telecom usage/costs.

  • Create monthly JE accruals for Legal, Training, Facilities, Security etc.

  • Work with Fixed Assets on accurate accruals for HW/SW, Other Services.

  • Assist in purchase orders review for accuracy, business needs and financial impact.

  • Analyze and track budget spending and adherence to annual budget limits.

  • Assist with various FP&A reporting and modeling needs.

  • Implement and automate new financial process changes to increase productivity and automation.

  • Serve as a back up to Hyperion Administrator.

    You’ll need to have:

    • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
    • Experience in a corporate role supporting finance.

    Even better if you have one or more of the following:

    • Bachelor’s degree Finance or Accounting
    • Experience in Financial Analysis, Accounting, Journal Entries (Credit/Debits).
    • Strong analytical skills and financial modeling skills
    • Proven track record of using Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Able to communicate with various departments as well as upper management
    • Ability to audit query results to ensure that the data is correctly being pulled for the analysis or report.
    • Ability to determine and advise if specific anomalies in the data set exist.
    • Ability to perform duties with minimal direction.
