What you’ll be doing...

You will be responsible for the strategic direction and learning lifecycle of our enterprise-wide Executive Education and Top Talent development programs. You will lead a team of managers who create world-class, high-impact learning solutions that develop a strong pipeline of extraordinary, principled executive leaders. Your leadership development portfolio will advance the communicative, collaborative, and strategic thinking skills needed for today, and also build the skills needed to lead future innovation, business growth, and strategic impact - all culminating as a competitive advantage building the Verizon of the future.

This position directly supports and interfaces with executives at varying levels including Verizon’s CHRO, SVP Talent & DEI, VP Learning & Development, all Learning & Development Directors, VP Talent Acquisition, as well as a variety of senior-level leaders across our business groups.

  • Lead Executive Education and Top Talent program strategy inclusive of DE&I learning content integration. Strategy is built in collaboration with senior business and HR leaders through understanding the needs and talent gaps of the business as well as via external thought leadership and insight into skills required of executive leaders in highly competitive and complex industries.
  • Lead a team of learning program managers as well as large-scale cross business group design teams including steering committees.
  • Oversee end-to-end program design/development driving innovative, engaging and impactful solutions. Lead program management and execution with agile management and excellence.
  • Architect connected learning program journeys and experiences aligned with the broader Leadership Development, Employee Development, and DE&I programs strategy.
  • Lead vendor supplier proposal reviews and selection process for best-fit program content.
  • Manage relationships, intellectual property/content/program management contractual agreements, and budgets with external vendor partners.
  • Manage team resources, including vendors, and program funds to deliver intended program outcomes, optimize learner experience and maximize ROI.
  • Lead Top Talent nomination process in partnership with workforce/succession planning.
  • Oversee program measurement and evaluation.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience as a team leader.
  • Experience creating and delivering custom learning programs and activities.
  • Experience in learning techniques for adults and technologies.
  • Experience with vendor supplier selection and management.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A master’s degree.
  • Experience with vendor supplier selection and management - specifically in the leadership development arena.
  • Experience managing a budget.
  • Broad business and financial acumen, strategic thinking and systems thinking capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and exceptional communication skills including executive presence, public speaking, and facilitation and writing etiquette.
  • Experience creating and executing strategic marketing campaigns that communicate, coordinate and promote innovative learning solutions.
  • Experience with learning measurement and ROI analysis.
  • Experience working with a variety of learning technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to continuously learn and experiment.
  • Experience planning events of all shapes and sizes.
  • Experience influencing key stakeholders through relationships, expertise and data.
  • Strong consulting skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
