What you’ll be doing...

As a key member of Verizon HQ Device Technology group, you’ll responsible for commercialization of Network features and services on chipsets, modules, new products in Consumer and IoT. You will interface with many organizations within Verizon and outside the business with OEM, external chipset vendors and infra.

  • Working closely with device OEMs, chipset vendors, infra-vendors, and Verizon business customers to execute commercialization plans while working collaboratively with internal cross-functional teams.
  • Program manage new products and services by supporting device vendors in execution of Field trials to certify new technologies.
  • Build relationships with our internal customers (device marketing, operations, maintenance engineering, and consumer team) so that when issues arise they can be handled discretely and quickly, and so that the teams work well together. This ensures that bugs and issues found bubble up quickly and are resolved.
  • Investigating field issues, provide solutions (UE-based or network-based) and follow up with the teams above for implementation.
  • Provide feedback for existing device requirement and test plan to resolve performance and function related issues encountered during product commercialization.
  • Work independently and decisively to drive new features and function through multiple stakeholders.
  • Adapt and address unforeseen issues that will arise as new features and functions are developed.
  • Work with multiple groups, both internally and externally to drive features and functions to full deployment.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent field.
  • Wireless engineering experience and strong knowledge of wireless infrastructure (4G, and 5G) and device design constraints.
  • Development and debug experience on mobile phones (i.e. QXDM, Wireshark, xCap).
  • Knowledge of 5G NR, LTE, IMS, VoLTE, VoNR.
  • Knowledge of relevant 3GPP, and GSMA standards.
  • Experience with the following: SIP, WiFi, SUPL, OMA-DM, TCP/UDP/IP, IPSEC, HTTP, FTP.
  • Knowledge or working experience with IMS/VoIP/Video Calling/Presence and related protocols: SIP, SDP, RTP, RTCP, UDP, TCP.
  • Communication and advanced presentation skills including demonstrated experience with executive level customer presentations.
  • Strong design skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience successfully leading technical deployment of new wireless products and services.
  • Technical Product development experience.
  • Strong project management skills to execute on roadmap, driving a project from inception to completion.
  • Ability to work on a team and independently on multiple high priority projects.
  • Ability to facilitate collaborative resolution of differences with a “win-win” approach.
  • Proven organizational and interpersonal skills, plus proven relationship building abilities.
