What you’ll be doing...

The AI&D (Artificial Intelligence and Data) organization at Verizon focuses on delivering the power of data and AI to drive our marketplace leadership through innovative solutions that create value for our customers, shareholders, V teamers and society, responsibly.

The Data Governance and Architecture team specializes in cross functional data management and data governance initiatives providing insight and guidance towards data integrity across business units.

The Senior Data Governance Analystwill support execution and management of data governance business processes associated with our enterprise wide data cataloging and compliance initiatives. The position will work closely with cross enterprise stakeholders including legal, Internal audit, security, technology and Verizon application teams to broaden the adoption of our Enterprise Data Governance Catalog. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with experience managing large scale programs.

  • Operate our Privacy/Compliance Governance Cataloging program ensuring proper execution of the business process.
  • Operate/manage or support business processes regarding maintenance and oversight of the Data Catalog including Governance artifact management (business terms, policies, data classes), data asset mangement and compliance and quality controls.
  • Work with leadership to assess prioritization of onboarding activities and establish andmaintain consistent reporting for the program.
  • Provide guidance on program execution steps including direct involvement in presentation and/or training.
  • Provide process support for technical integrations between source applications and the Enterprise Data Catalog.
  • Advocate for the continued adoption of Data Governance best practices with strong emphasis on Data Cataloging programs.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, or data analytics.
  • Experience in data management and data governance, solution and process design
  • Significant knowledge of various data management capabilities - data catalog, data governance rule definition, data protection, data provisioning, data sharing, data retention, data stewardship, etc.
  • Strong communication, ability to influence groups outside of your organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to identify opportunities to apply data management capabilities for efficiency and control.
  • Ability to define phased approach towards data management capability deliveries
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Principles.
  • Knowledge of Data Management standards (e.g. DCAM,DAMA).
  • Knowledge of business process modelling standards (BPMN).
