What you’ll be doing...

We are looking for a marketing lead who will oversee Verizon’s enterprise-wide social advocacy strategy. At Verizon,we define advocacy through three pillars: Influencer, Executive and Employee.In this newly created, highly visible role, you will be responsible for day to day strategy and execution across three business units: CMO, Verizon Consumer Group and Verizon Business Group. This is a cross-functional and collaborative role where you will work with internal and external comms teams as you build our executives presence on social media and will unlock the passion of our global VTeamers on social, supercharging our existing #VTeam employee advocacy program.

You’ll be part of the CoE Social Media team (within the CMO Media & Engagement organization led by the Chief Media Officer) and will be positioned as our influencer thought leader, an in-house subject matter expert on all things advocacy. You will have worked across both consumer and business organizations and have relevant experience in building and growing personal brands for C-Suites (i.e. managing a CEO or business leader social channels).

  • Lead influencer relations, drive and develop an enterprise strategy across business units, while building processes and systems to help identify, support, and grow emerging social-first creators
  • Manage a dedicated influencer agency as day to day lead
  • Serve as a steward for the brand and uphold talent selection criteria
  • Oversee influencer activity across the M&E organization including tentpole moments (SuperBowl, Oscars), device launches (Iconic, Google, Samsung), sponsorships (NFL, LiveNation, ESports), responsible business (Verizon Innovative Learning) and always-on editorial initiatives.
  • Serve as thought leader for Verizon C-Suite on social, build and grow personal brand on social through bespoke content and real time engagement
  • Supercharge employee advocacy, create a turnkey model for always on #VTeam brand love on social
  • Provide direction and thought leadership to cross functional teams including comms and business unit leaders
  • Evaluate, analyze, and interpret performance data for influencer campaigns/initiatives in coordination with current social analytics lead; use real-time analysis as a decision-making tool to make real-time improvements to social strategy.
  • Collaborate on the production of influencer content at/during live events, including awards shows and brand-sponsored events.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience

Even better if you've:

  • Non-internship experience in the social media, talent / influencer space
  • Deeply passionate about social and emerging media and heavy user of platforms
  • Experience managing social media accounts for a Fortune 500 brand or business and growing a global social audience
  • Experience working with C-Suites, entrepreneurs, tech leaders in building personal brand
  • Experience in managing talent, working with creators and managing a social creator briefing process
  • Collaborative leader able to work closely with many cross-functional stakeholders in a quickly evolving environment
  • Skilled communicator that can present to senior leadership about vision, campaigns, and team direction
  • Experience with Sprinklr or similar content management tool
  • A solutions-oriented mentality and a discerning eye for high-quality content
  • Ability to exercise good independent judgment and discretion
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
  • Experience working with and managing agencies.
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
