What you’ll be doing...

As part of the Network Services DMO, you will be responsible for driving the deployment of Verizon’s FiOS over IEN/Multigig/Qamless program. This is to provide FIOS service over NGPON2 network with increased bandwidth which allows for the delivery of broadband speeds up to 10G to the consumer. Goal is to enhance existing FiOS product with Qamless Video, Multi-Gig (NGPON2) support and CHR in In-Franchise Markets using iEN packet transport.

You will be driving and tracking all aspects of this program working to align everything from the VCG (Verizon Consumer Group), NI (Network Implementation), NP (network Planning), Network infrastructure & Network Systems’ teams to achieve this goal. Your role will be pivotal to coordinate activities across all these functional areas. This is a critical corporate objective to help Verizon to offer greater than 1GB Speeds to the Consumer to meet ever increasing subscriber demand for greater bandwidth and lower latency.

  • Coordinating a wide variety of cross-functional project teams - SAFE ART teams, Agile teams and NON-ART teams across Network systems, NI, VCG & Network planning teams focused on different aspects of the NGPON2 deployment and keeping them on track to meet deadlines.
  • Influencing stakeholders to align on program objectives and goals and not just functional area responsibilities.
  • Facilitates all deep-dive meetings across Network systems organizations - Service Assurance, Service Provisioning, Engineering, Field, Center & Dispatch, work with corresponding DMO teams, Dev Managers, ART owners in driving this multi swim lane NGPON2 program for an on-time delivery.
  • You will be part of a value team in the SAFE agile model ensuring that the agreed Agile process is being followed. You will also help remove obstacles and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement to create value in the value streams.
  • Exhibits Lean-Agile leadership and helps the team embrace SAFe Core Values, adopt and apply SAFe Principles, and implement SAFe practices.
  • Supports the Product Owner manage the backlog and guide the team while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope.
  • Utilizing project tracking tools and systems to accurately document milestones and keep them on track.
  • Developing and implement corrective action plans to mitigate impact to project schedules and overall business objectives. Communicates with management and outside stakeholders to help manage workloads.
  • Creating weekly program content and give presentations that helps to drive decision making for our Director and VP teams.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience managing and executing competing tasks and multiple projects simultaneously and work independently.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies as it relates IT and experience with SAFe agile framework.
  • Telecom experience with network technologies.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A Master’s degree in Management or Computer Science or a relevant field.
  • Proven track record of successful project execution.
  • Knowledge of Verizon’s internal processes, systems, and flows.
  • Influencing skills.
  • Experience using the full suite of Microsoft Office and Google Product Suite.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, ever-changing environment and maintain a high-performance level.
  • Ability to influence organizational direction and departmental initiatives.
  • Experience managing large cross-functional or enterprise-wide projects.
  • Flexible and adaptable to handling multiple projects and strict deadlines in a rapidly-paced environment.
  • Ability to focus on process and the customer experience.
  • Experience in leadership roles in technology management.
  • Experience using JIRA, Rally, and Confluence for project tracking.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (including strong listening skills).
