When you join Verizon
Verizon is one of the world’s leading providers of technology and communications services, transforming the way we connect across the globe. We’re a diverse network of people driven by our shared ambition to shape a better future. Here, we have the ability to learn and grow at the speed of technology, and the space to create within every role. Together, we are moving the world forward – and you can too. Dream it. Build it. Do it here.
What you’ll be doing...
This position supports the Consumer and Business Development organizations as a critical part of the product development lifecycle. You’ll be a key resource within the procurement team ensuring that projects are delivered on time and on budget. You’ll partner with other areas of the business, like sourcing and finance to be sure that all resources and purchases are ready when needed. We’re looking for you to process purchase orders and assist with vendor onboarding to allow the development teams to plan, create and deliver the products Verizon depends on to meet our commitments to revenue and our customers. This position will require the management of purchasing requests and verifying contracts, scrutinizing deliverables, and strategically linking all pertinent information with the correct funding source. Providing direction and recommendations on the correct coding and system selection for the best procurement results. Investigating all open purchases to determine when Verizon can confirm receipt of the goods and provide guidance to the accounts payable team that the vendor may now be paid. This includes analyzing all backup information and selecting the most appropriate evidence to use when completing the subsequent systematic actions. Continued review and analysis of vendor information/status to identify areas of improvement and provide direction to peer organizations on corrective updates. Other key success factors include the establishment of relationships, dialogues, and exchange of information with buyers, vendors, peer organizations, and management for the purposes of data collection to better manage and predict the needs of the organization for both future and existing procurement transactions. This allows for leaders to have a better view of spending, and budget planning along with ensuring all stakeholder input is analyzed. Assisting leaders to properly plan for future capex and opex budgets. Provide regular spend readout and outlook to management to ensure clear alignment and ensure teams are staying aligned with expected and planned expenditures.
