What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is hiring for a Senior Security Application Engineer, located in Diegem, Belgium. Now is the opportunity to join our team of technical specialists, working in the domain of Application Security. The candidate will be part of a global service operations team, working on cloud and hosting based products. The role will challenge the individual’s hands-on technical expertise, as well as home in on your consulting/client-facing abilities.

The key focus will be to ensure that Verizon’s products and services are in scope of customer needs, whilst ensuring that the existing technologies are delivering the desired results. It will be necessary to have a hands-on approach to this role at an application engineering level, whilst also having a consulting mindset when engaging with our client SME’s. Your consulting skills will allow you to bring ideas and solutions where necessary, to both internal and external audiences, whilst helping progress Verizon’s specific product delivery targets and roadmap. You will engage in presentations, demonstrations and work with various departments to ensure that our technology meets our customer’s needs

  • Provide an exceptional level of technical expertise from a systems and application engineering perspective, ensuring to meet the challenges within a dynamically changing customer environment.
  • Go above and beyond for our customers, providing solutions around general cryptographic technologies whilst working within a defined business framework.
  • Focused delivery on resolution of issues within a high degree of customer satisfaction, technical expertise, business acumen and timeliness.
  • Follow operational process and procedures as per the existing and continually adapting function of a global operations and product engineering centre.
  • Participate professionally but firmly when necessary on customer facing engagements.
  • Interact with 3rd party vendors at both a technical and professional level.
  • Engage with a technical team, providing your input and guidance as and when necessary.
  • Delivering on resolution of complex issues individually or as a contributor with the team
  • Supporting Development with issues that require engineering input
  • Leading the debug/defect tracking/priority with Development Management
  • Work with Product and Regional Management on new products as necessary
  • Work with your team and where necessary
  • Providing critical input on Problem/Query resolution
  • Contributing on New Product delivery
  • Participating in Product Management escalations
  • Contributing on development escalations
  • Working on Client requirements, either alone or with a team

Where you'll be working...

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You will be need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
  • Experience in appropriate senior technical role
  • Experience with Docker and Ansible.
  • Experience of Oracle databases (SQL)
  • Experience of operating systems
  • Application diagnostic/debugging experience.
  • Experience with VMware, vCentre, vMotion
  • Knowledge of Networking.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
  • Must have a valid drivers licence.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Ability to provide solutions at consulting level with relating SME clients
  • Ability to work in a team providing solutions and implementing pre/production deployments, as and when needed.
  • Good at managing his/her own workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Priority vs Criticality.
  • Experience with Java/Python.
  • Excellent document writing skills
  • Solid customer relations and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent team communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Presentation skills
  • Experience of PKI’s, HSM’s, Cryptography, Azure, AWS, InTune
