What you’ll be doing...

This position will join the Global Technology Solutions (GTS) Verizon Infrastructure Platform Services (VIPS) Strategy and Transformation Office to provide program and project management for key strategic and operational efforts across the VIPS organization. In this position you will use your expertise to successfully execute and drive projects to completion. This position will lead projects that involve cross team initiatives and will require you to partner with infrastructure, network, and application teams to meet strict deadlines and achieve financial goals.In addition, this position will collaborate with the Strategy and Transformation Office to help develop standards and streamline processes, identify end to end process improvements and efficiencies, and provide overall support to VIPS teams when needed.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Execute a well-organized program management approach to the various VIPS cross functional projects to manage the end to end project life cycle components.

  • Leveraging a broad knowledge of standard Program Management Office practices to support enhancements to the program

  • Providing major project milestones, deliverables, and timelines through development of detailed project plans.

  • Developing meeting cadences, weekly status reporting, and presenting clear and succinct executive updates to Program Office leadership.

  • Ensuring project deliverables and timing are met, dependencies are understood, and risks are identified and mitigated.

  • Escalating risks, issues, changes and decisions to management and business counterparts throughout project life cycles.

  • Managing the financial components of each project, and ensuring spending is within budget and savings are achieved.

  • Collaborating across the VIPS organization with teams and stakeholders to achieve project success.

  • Collaborate with the VIPS Program Office Team to prioritize and balance your workload, contribute to creating standards and reporting templates, and identifying and implementing process improvements.

*This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.*

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • PMP Certification
  • Experience leading large and complex team projects with minimal direct supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills and vast knowledge of project management tools, Smartsheets experience is a plus
  • Ability to effectively engage/interact/communicate with all levels within the organization
  • Skills creating clear, organized presentations
  • Experience with change management methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal skills, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across various levels of management.
  • Abilityto meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented collaborative work environment.
  • Critical thinking skills and a strong organizational mindset with the ability to execute on details.
