As the Associate Director of Solution Engineers, you will own exceeding quarterly/annual sales targets as well as growing a team of Solution Engineers. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic plan to achieve sales targets and contribute to the expansion of Verizon Connect’s customer base. As the Associate Director, you will be a strategic thinker with exceptional strategic, organizational agility, cross-functional skills, and have strong sales management experience (Pre-Sales experience preferred).

For this job, you'll bring extensive pre-sales experience with enterprise software selling within large Fortune 500 companies, a strong technical background, and detailed knowledge of web technologies, and enterprise SaaS applications. You must have a strong background in technology, Internet protocols, sales, systems information management, and systems design, including experience in consultative selling or solution-based sales. You also enjoy working with people and technology, and as such you have both the ability to interact with engineering teams as well as excellent relationship-building and communication skills.

  • Partner with senior client executives to provide support for the largest and most strategic deals and opportunities in the East or West areas, which may include mentoring and support of assigned solutions engineers.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of Verizon Connect products to develop and present unique solutions and maintain knowledge of emerging trends in technology and online advertising.
  • Participate as a player/coach lead within other segments, as appropriate.
  • Supporting direct reports by participating and leading in client/prospect meetings/demos.
  • Ongoing mentoring and development of the sales team which includes recruiting, hiring and training new Managing Partners, Sr. Solution Engineers andSolution Enginers on sales process and developing the sales teams.
  • Ability to build and execute on the sales plan.
  • Conducting weekly forecast meetings and coaching direct reports regarding strategies to drive closure.
  • Reviewing Managing Partners Quarterly Business Objectives and working with them on achieving those objectives.
  • Reporting on sales activity and forecast to sales management and finance.
  • Consistently monitoring the sales activity of the team, and tracking the results.
  • Motivational leader that is capable of leading a high performing sales team.
  • Able to think horizontally while collaborating with other leaders across the business to drive results (including Account Development, Marketing and Finance).
  • Partner with sales to develop requirements documents, presentations, proposals, and ROI models, and coordinate with a team of support specialists, consultants, or project managers to execute sales objectives or to ensure that all pre-sales customer requirements are documented and transitioned.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Seven or more years of technical sales or field sales experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Valid driver's license.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • MBA
  • Technical degree or relevant industry experience.
  • Proven track record of success in large enterprise opportunities in your current role.
  • Ability to be successful in cross functional initiatives.
  • Experience and technical expertise.
  • Sales engineering or consulting experience.
  • Excellent presentation skills (remote and in person).
  • Ability to communicate at both a technical and a business level.
  • Ability to develop trust and confidence with a wide variety of individuals within a customer organization
