When you join Verizon

Verizon is one of the world’s leading providers of technology and communications services, transforming the way we connect across the globe. We’re a diverse network of people driven by our shared ambition to shape a better future. Here, we have the ability to learn and grow at the speed of technology, and the space to create within every role. Together, we are moving the world forward – and you can too. Dream it. Build it. Do it here.

What you’ll be doing...

As a Product Manager in the Platform team, the Emerging Platform Product Manager will be responsible for innovating and developing enterprise product platforms from inception to building proofs of concept to commercialization. Emerging platforms incorporate concepts from spatial computing, remote rendering, blockchain and adjacent technologies. Responsibilities span from customer needs identification, platform definition, technology evaluation, product/program management of proof of concepts, partner management, business development, and working across geographically and functionally dispersed teams.

Challenges are many and include:

  • Identifying new opportunities
  • Market pain points
  • Fit for Verizon
  • Path to monetization

The Product Manager will work with many different teams to qualify new solutions and assess feasibility of implementation. The qualification process will include developing a business case, technical deep dive and assessing alignment with Verizon. Additionally, this position will work with outside partners to drive rapid prototyping efforts tested against pre-defined goals and KPIs defined with partner teams. A successful candidate will be a confident collaborator, spokesperson and champion for their ideas and work diligently to build a coalition of internal support. A customer-first mentality, out of the box thinking and a good strategic mindset are all critical for success.

Where you'll be working...

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of work experience in XR, gaming, 3D, or other emerging technologies.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A Master’s degree in Business or Computing.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native and container technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Experience in full-stack software engineering – design vendor selection, software development – client, back-end and infrastructure.
  • Ability to package and sell ideas and influence across all levels of management and across organizational levels.
  • Interpersonal, verbal and written skills, and the ability to work effectively with executives.
  • Strong leadership skills and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with developing platforms for enterprises.
  • Experience with business case development.
  • Experience in Product management.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and organize data and develop recommendations.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.
