What you’ll be doing...

The Senior Engineer provides expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems. Resolves highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research. The Senior Engineer has knowledgeable in all areas of telecommunications as well as business principles and processes.

  • Resourceful and detail oriented, able to lead in project management, customer-care, conflict resolution, and creating actionable reports.
  • A leader that is an understanding, innovative individual who has a strong sense of teamwork and gets results by displaying commitment, trust, fairness, and loyalty.
  • Understands and can teach concepts of Telecommunications and IP/Networking theory, Network architecture, and Network systems/platforms.
  • Handles customer remote site activations, cross-polarization measurements, simple network connectivity and troubleshooting and adheres to identified work instructions.
  • Can easily communicate instructions and next steps to field vendors, communicate with peers and report up to higher level management.
  • Needs very little instruction to guide tasks to successful completion.
  • Along with technical experience has strong problem solving and customer service skills.
  • Often times, satellite technicians will need to speak directly with customers who may not understand the technical details of satellite technology as a result, technicians are expected to possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Supports and directs day-to-day operations to include circuit troubleshooting, outage reporting, publications, and record keeping.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with outside agencies and departments in the engineering and troubleshooting of satellite and terrestrial circuits.
  • Conducts systems engineering review and provisioning for communications circuits and direct operations.
  • Must be willing to participate if needed on assigned shifts 24x7, scheduled and rotational coverage including last minute flexibility coverage as well as on-call rotations as needs of the business.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Satellite Earth Station technologies.
  • Experience with RF theory, and basic electronics, with specific expertise in major systems like RF, IF and Baseband equipment.
  • Experience using industry standard test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, frequency counters, power meters, synthesized, generators, oscilloscopes, microwave network analyzers, network analyzers, and bit error rate test sets.
  • Experience in use of “Microsoft Office Suite” software.
  • A valid driver's license.

  • CCNA certificate or equivalent experience.
  • General PC skills.
  • Programming skills.
  • MCSE Certification.
  • DB Certification.
  • Organizational, multi-tasking and team player skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
