What you’ll be doing...

As a Principal Architect (PA) in the Advanced Technology Group (ATG) Secure Network organization of Verizon Business Group (VBG), you will play a key role in creating preference for Verizon-delivered enterprise solutions by focusing on learning and leading network transformation for the cloud era (SD-WAN | Cloud Interconnection | Multicloud | SASE | SSE | VNF | uCPE | wireless WAN).The PA will be an accomplished self-starter who is passionate about applying technology to solving client problems and driving change. Has a strong sense of ownership and loves turning ambiguity into real outcomes while working across all functions and matrixed teams. Keen to learn and experiment with new technologies with practical experience in design/concepts of enterprise networks, security solutions and cloud-enabled services. Frequent activities include:

  • Leading solution strategy and development in our largest, most complex opportunities to help sales engineers (Solution Architects) win;
  • Leading a ‘community of practice’ to promote self-sufficiency and keep technical sales professionals up to date on Verizon and industry solutions, effective technical architecture, and innovation in turn driving value and revenue;
  • Developing and delivering Solution Architect training;
  • Collaborating with our client facing lab, managed services delivery, and vendor partners for Proof Of Concept (POC)/demo(s);
  • Provide regular market insights, drivers and customer feedback to our partner organizations for product and technology positioning and enhancements.
  • Identify compelling use cases, repeatable solutions and partnerships that can be scaled across all segments to drive growth.
  • Establish technology frameworks and best practices to maximize speed to market and operational supportability.
  • Participate in executive briefings and customer presentations.
  • Travel to customer sites, partner locations, conferences, and other related events.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or four or moreyears of work experience
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six four more years of experience with Enterprise data networking technologies including campus andbranch solutions, IP routing protocols, security infrastructure, data center, software virtualization and cloud concepts.
  • Three or more years of experiencefor end to end delivery (i.e. Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Service Delivery Architect, Profession Services).
  • Willingness to travelup to approximately 25% of the time.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Even better if you have one or more of the phone:

  • Ablilityto exhibit proactive, consultative technical thought leadership -- having a specific point of view and having the credibility and confidence to share it with customers.
  • Valid industry certifications in one or more of the following: Versa, Fortinet, Cradlepoint, Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, AWS, GCP, Azure, Equinix.
  • Knowledge in one or more of the network automation techniques: Python, Ansible, JSON, Terraform, Rest API’s and API Gateways, and other related technologies.
  • Experience selling Hybrid Cloud Management services that include: containerization of applications.
  • Experience with hyperscalers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and/or experience with Red Hat Open Shift.Hands-on experience with AWS / GCE / Azure.
  • Knowledge of Docker containers / Kubernetes and applications for Edge computing.
  • Experience in sales or service of Fortune 500 companies.
  • Architecture experience in conceptualization, definition and development of IT and/or telecom-based products and service (Network/Security/IoT).
  • Strong collaboration and communication knowledge and abilities across cross-functional stakeholder organizations.
  • Ability and experience withoperating deep into the details across the entire customer life-cycle (technical design, Day-1 implementation, Day-2 operations, financial/commercial/pricing/contractual).
  • Experience with financial analysis (P&L, ROI, cost analysis, business case development).
