What you’ll be doing...

This opportunity is for Military personnel who are current participants of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program or are participants of the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 3-2022.

The Verizon Return Facility generally employs ~1600 employees and processes all returns from customers, retail, and tradelines, amounting to over 18M devices and accessories annually.

Verizon is in process of opening up a new Returns processing center and onboarding a new supplier to manage the new facility. Projects in Reverse Operations can involve anything from process automation, integration with supplier systems, KPI creations and Dashboarding, Project Plan development to complex financial projections, value stream maps,etc. In this role individuals will be developing project milestone plans with internal and external stakeholders and ensuring the plan is being adhered to.

  • Work closely with IT and Systems to ensure systems development and requirements are delivered.

  • Develop and drive operational requirements and processes which will be provided to the 3PL for implementation.

  • Work closely with the new 3PL to identify strategic location and project manage timeline and deliverables for facility and equipment deployment.

  • Run and operate the operation, ensuring compliance to SLAs and KPIs.

  • Developing strategies to drive cost out of the business, including identifying revenue opportunities with cross functional teams.

  • Lead project management initiatives to support overall Device Supply Chain initiatives, including Business Transformation efforts.

  • Communicate regularly to senior leadership regarding operational updates and associated financial benefits.

What is Expected:

  • Meetings: Lead discussions, encourage engagement, mediate strong opinions, promote efficient time management, empower team to accomplish goals.

  • Document: Meeting agendas and notes, key decisions, risk assessments, project charters, risk analysis charts, business case development, flow charts, milestone delivery.

Facilitate: Remove team impediments, connect SME’s to team tasks, ensure stakeholder alignment, coordinate efforts across multiple business groups.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Must be a current participant of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program or of the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 3-2022.

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience

  • Experience in manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, SAP, or related areas.

  • Lean, Agile (Scrum, Kanban), and Change Management Experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering and/or Logistics related field.

  • MBA or experience that requires strong financial and business acumen.

  • Excellent forward thinking, critical thinking, and analytical skills with high attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including: Communicating - written, oral, listening, speaking, internal/external, formal/informal, vertical/horizontal; Negotiating and reaching agreements. You know how to build a strong constituency based on trust.

  • A background as a Business or SAP Systems Architect, or Senior Data Analyst.

  • Strong ability to easily craft a formal business case.

  • Strong servant leadership, problem solving and negotiation skills.

  • An upbeat, can-do attitude that’s able to respond to frequent changes with grace and aplomb.

  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar (Rally, Version One, etc.)

  • Certified Scrum Master.

  • Project Management Professional.

  • Six Sigma Lean (Green or Black Belts) or Change Management.
