What you’ll be doing...

Exciting opportunities exist within the Verizon Global Presales Engineering organization. As a Solutions Architect, you will be an integral part of a talented team collaborating with our clients’ on their Digital Transformation. You will play a meaningful role in building long-term business relationships within assigned enterprise accounts. This is a high-impact role working closely with the Sales team and customers to identify and qualify opportunities and design solutions to address customer business challenges.

You will seek to build deep, consultative technical relationships with your customers, effectively becoming a trusted adviser. A Solutions Architect is ideally positioned to understand the customer's high-level objectives and match these to Verizon solutions in order to satisfy business and technical requirements.

  • Being an integral part of a team identifying and qualifying business opportunities and developing the strategy to resolve technical matters.
  • Forming and nurturing strong relationships with our government accounts, building trust with their senior management and key influencers.
  • Recommending integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution using best practices.
  • Owning the technical relationship with Verizon customers, including managing product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of additional technical resources.
  • Working directly with customers to create solutions and use cases that leverage Verizon product integrations that generate business value.
  • Providing guidance and responses to RFI/RFP/RFQ
  • Articulating the Verizon Enterprise vision on technologies and solutions towards the Client.
  • Leading prioritization of Customer solution / technical requirements and champions resolution of solution / product gaps internally (also towards Product Groups).
  • Developing individual skill set and expanding product knowledge to maximize value and to deliver quality services to our clients.
  • Attaining designated certification requirements and attending product-specific training, reviewing technical literature, and obtaining hands-on experience.
  • Traveling to client sites, conferences, and other related events as required.

What we’re looking for...

Your technical and consulting skills are top notch, and you are known for digging into the details to find the best solutions. You know how to get to the bottom of your customers’ needs, and how to manage your partners’ expectations. Talking to people comes very naturally to you and you have an ability to communicate complex information in a way that people understand – whether verbal or written.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more year’s relevant experience.
  • Four or more years of experience in the tech industry pre-sales, customer-facing, consulting or other relevant technical experience.
  • Four or more years and excellent Pre-Sales and customer engagement skill and experience.
  • Experience in complex multi-tower security and network solutions– ideally in Cyber Intelligence and Analytics, Critical Infrastructure, Global Managed Security Services, Threat and Risk Intelligence, Vulnerability Management.
  • Experience identitying and Accessing Management, Governance Risk and Compliance, or Security andNetwork Architecture, managed solutions.
  • Experience architecting and developing LAN/WAN or large infrastructure and network solutions for enterprise customers.
  • Experience in networking and cloud services.
  • Knowledge of the application landscape.
  • Vendor, IT Service Provider, Consultancy and/or Systems Integrator experience engaging with various external customers.
  • Willingness to trave up to 25% of the time.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to positively build effective working relationships, drive engagement, motivate colleagues, and influence culture.
  • Excellent presentation skills and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience architecting IT infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.
  • Proven track record in presenting compelling business cases to c-suite buyers. Ideally in large Government or global accounts.
  • Ability to meet demanding goals and anticipated and mitigated technical barriers to sale or implementation.
  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape and a demonstrable ability to clearly articulate technical differentiation and value proposition.
  • Mastery of commonly used security, Internet and networking concepts, practices and procedures experience.
  • Industry certification such as TOGAF and/or SABSA.
  • Sales or Pre-Sales Methodology training.
  • Sound planning, organizational, financial, high level report writing and administrative skills.
  • Programming skills.
