What you’ll be doing...

As the Global Payroll Transactional Auditor, your primary responsibility is to validate payroll transactions that are included or impact the Gross to Net Pay Amount for all employees. The goal is to ensure 100% accuracy prior to payroll processing therefore being proactive vs. reactive with issues identified. Audits will include Short term Disability payments, Termination, tax, garnishments and special pay. All transactions must be in compliance with the applicable country or state Wage and Pay Practices, Country, State, Federal and Local regulations. You will audit transactions performed by the Global Payroll Transactional team, if errors are identified they will be rejected and discussed with the originator for correction and resubmission.

In addition, you will provide feedback, council and support the transaction team to help them understand when they have failed an audit check. You will produce a scorecard that measures accuracy across the team identifying failure points.

  • Work independently to conduct audits for payroll transactions impacting or included in gross to net pay prior to processing. Responsible for rejecting transactions if not compliant and council with originator on issue identified so corrections can be applied and audited again until passed.
  • Responsible for ensuring backlog of transactions does not get too large, meet timeline of conducting audits to meet or exceed timeliness SLA.
  • Support initiatives identified by Global Payroll Compliance team to enhance controls in processes across Global Payroll. Support plans identified to remediate deficiencies and monitor performance against those actions.
  • Work with Compliance team to perform data analysis to support process improvements and changes leading to a more effective control environment.
  • Help identify process improvements to strengthen deficient areas causing audit failures.
  • Work with Global Payroll Senior Trainers to review and improve training material utilized by the transaction team to ensure consistency and compliance in completing transactions.
  • Interpret and enforce policies and compliance.
  • Cooperatively interact with various Global Payroll teams, and management to perform audits and achieve goals to track and enforce compliance.
  • Develop effective processes and procedures to audit transactions included or impacting gross to net pay for each pay cycle.
  • Produce scorecard and metrics to track audit findings.
  • Be a liaison between Global Payroll Compliance and Controls team. Assist with remediation(s) as defined and modify audit checks based on changes defined.
  • Ensure proper controls are in place to support segregation of duties.
  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action; work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations requires a review of identifiable factors.
  • Provide assistance in developing process documentation and or training material.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics.
  • CPP or CPA certification (or are in the process of getting certified).
  • One or more years of experience with PeopleSoft HRMS and Infor time systems.
  • Knowledge of each payroll transaction responsible for auditing.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local tax requirements as well as Wage and Payroll Practices.
  • Knowledge of end to end Global Payroll processes and processing schedule.
  • Knowledge of audit and payroll practices, policies and procedures.
