What you’ll be doing...

You’ll work with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Customer Service Center, Logistics, Motor Vehicle and Contract Administration to plan, organize and schedule the building and maintaining of Outside Plant infrastructure. Leading, motivating, developing and coaching union represented employees.

  • Developing action plans to drive efficiency and mitigate customer and network service issues.
  • Creating an environment of teamwork with your peers and direct reports.
  • Prioritizing workload based on due dates and customer requirements.
  • Tracking jobs status and accomplishments including the close out of completed jobs.
  • Maintaining productivity and cost reports.
  • Completing daily administration such as, quality inspections, daily time reporting, safety inspections and training for all direct reports.

What we’re looking for...

You’re organized, motivated, detail-oriented, and known for your sound judgment. Solving problems creatively and constantly looking for ways to improve processes are some of your strengths. You’re comfortable holding people accountable for their performance and their adherence to policy, and you’re able to inspire and engage diverse groups to do their best work. Someone who has the presence to seek guidance from your peers and manager.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of OSP underground systems and construction standards.
  • Three or more years of experience in Outside Plant Design, Engineering and Planning.
  • Willingness to work extended hours when necessary, including weekends, holidays, after hours and on call as required for the needs of the business.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of relevant work experience in field operations (Line, Splice or Telecom Installation/Repair) – Copper and fiber.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering construction plans and specifications.
  • Ability to work with construction superintendents and professional engineers.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and cost estimating skills.
  • Experience administering processes and policies as they relate to safety, attendance, performance work rules and code of conduct.
  • Knowledge of Safety Compliance Plans/OSHA.
  • Experience in managing union represented employees.
  • Experience managing teams while traveling through assigned territory.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to clearly communicate up and down organization.
  • Experience in developing high performance teams with a positive culture.
  • Strong organizational, time-priority management and results-driven leadership skills.
  • Experience providing coaching, guidance, feedback and motivation to employees.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Suite and other virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Blue Jeans).
