What you’ll be doing...

In the Corporate Systems Group we are looking for a Revenue Systems Application Architect who can help us create an Intelligent Continuous Revenue Close Engine. As a Lead Application Architect the candidate will be responsible for creating a comprehensive Application architecture and strategy to support Verizon wide revenue recognition and booking solutions across the company incorporating Analytics, Data Science/AI/ML, and reporting.

  • Architect and Implement automated data solutions to ingest and process data into flexible data domains to support the 1RevenueClose platform, which provides analytics, dashboards, visualizations and machine learning as well as third party API integration.
  • Architect and Design metadata-driven solutions to handle the continual change of data formats and structure and enable backwards compatibility.
  • Provides strategic guidance for data movement strategies, data masking/encryption, record retention strategy, data infrastructure/security, the operational data store and the operational reporting strategy.
  • This position will be responsible for defining and driving technical/data architectures related to 1RevenueClose platform and play a pivotal role and collaborate with internal teams and business leaders alike in defining the North Star architectures aligning with other North Star Architectures across the company.
  • The Application Architect in this position guides and coaches the Revenue System team including developers, testing team and architects on the data flows, best practices and procedures. Will act like a conduit between different teams ensuring that functional requirements and technical stories are in alignment for delivering the strategic business and technical goals.
  • Ensures Billing, A/R, and tax data integrity at an enterprise level in the strategic data repositories (VMG, EDW, BODS). Cares for the normalization of said data as it transforms through the systems/business processes.
  • Develops complex and intelligent AI/ML based tools to evaluate patterns and predict issues. Creates solutions to challenging data issues and assists finance and accounting teams in providing auditable reporting solutions.
  • Analyzes situations or data requiring an in-depth understanding of business practices and/or system architecture. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Responsible for strategic planning and system development to support business needs, logical architecture, and enhancements in current processes and platforms.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • MS/BS in Management Information Systems or Computer Science
  • Experience in Fintech architecting and developing finance/accounting solutions
  • Experience developing cloud native enterprise class applications using technologies/platforms/Methodologies such as GCP, AWS, AI/ML, DevSecOps and Agile
  • Experience implementing ASC606 compliant revenue recognition system in telecom or services industry
  • Strong knowledge of Billing, ERP, Device Payments/Securitization, and Supply Chain domains
  • Proficient in implementing AI/ML driven solutions at its core – data/algorithm driven, self-healing, enabling predictive, prescriptive and augmented analytics
  • Proficient in analytical skills in reviewing the trends in the data patterns and be able to interpret/provide corrective actions/solutions
  • knowledge in analyzing complex business problems including understanding the data lineages, analyzing source system records and business processes to pinpoint areas of concern and present the solutions
  • Works continuously with Business teams in addressing tactical and strategic data processing, profiling, classification, analysis and reporting
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606 compliance rules and booking processes to support various accounting teams in completing the Month end booking processes
