What you’ll be doing...

We’re looking for a motivated, creative, and technically knowledgeable Principal UI UX Designer who is excited to work with multiple teams, develop products, and on the front line of communications in XR.

Here at Verizon’s Advanced Collaboration Technologies (ACT) group, we push the boundaries of collaboration and communications applications by leveraging emerging and cutting-edge immersive technologies in Virtual and Augmented Reality (or Extended Reality; XR). We are a fast-paced product team building next generation applications, platforms, SDKs, and APIs to enhance the capabilities of our widely used software products.

• Drive the end-to-end design process for the XR Advanced Communications products.
• Design for the web and native mobile platforms and understanding how to apply both form and function within them while maintaining simplicity.
• Develop requirements through qualitative and quantitative data to create simple, intuitive, and beautiful user experiences.
• Develop and maintain design documentation including specifications and style guides.
• Produce product promotional content such as video tutorials, UI animation, and lifestyle mockups for the Marketing team.

Where you’ll be working:

In this remote role, you'll work from home with occasional in-person trainings and meetings.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• A Master’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Experience as a UI/UX designer.
• Understanding of AR and VR content creation.
• Knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• History of shipping beautiful, thoughtful digital products to real users through conducting user research, creating UX and visual design documents, building prototypes, and overseeing their pixel-perfect execution all the way to production.
• Experience working collaboratively with product, engineering, and business teams throughout the product development life-cycle to iterate on and deliver a user experience that is of the highest standard.
• A passion for communicating complex design solutions across uses cases by creating process flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups.
• Experience facilitating user research and usability testing with a systems approach to design.
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated with a passion for consistency, organization, usability, and discoverability.
• Proficient with Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or other prototyping tools.
• Having a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and a desire to build accessible products for all users.
• Strong communicator with the ability to defend your designs to a broad audience while internalizing and responding to feedback.
