What you’ll be doing...

We are looking for a Senior Manager to lead a technical team of Full Stack developers including employees and contractors to build applications to support the Sales team – internal and customer-facing.

  • Identify the most preferred and optimal way of implementing technical solutions to complex business problems.
  • Evaluate the possible products landscape and design patterns and identify the best strategy for Verizon sales systems.
  • Enable the use of data as an asset to drive business decisions and customer experience.
  • Enhance customer, employee, and partner experience using digital first approach (e.g., web and mobile).
  • Develop high-level and detail-level designs with cross-functional input. Work closely with product managers and other external stakeholders to ensure that the final solution will meet business objectives.
  • Identify the gaps in the current implementation and find opportunities for optimizations for faster and simpler sales systems.
  • Work with multiple SOW teams and create a pool of secondary and backup leads.
  • Create a strategy to augment the Verizon workforce with on Demand SOW workforce for faster delivery as needed.
  • Lead SOW vendors to create a work structure where multiple SOW vendors work together to create a 24/7 delivery model.
  • Support end-users with any issues the application portfolio.
  • Work with SRE teams and deliver the ongoing improvements for the systems reliability and availability.
  • Work with cross-applications to address the trouble tickets and field concerns.

Where you’ll be working:

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Software development work experience.
  • Experience with software development practices and principles to build resilient systems and to provide business continuity.
  • Experience with Agile methodology.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or related field.
  • Development experience with the following technology categories - Application Performance Management, Containerized Workloads (e.g., Kubernetes, EKS), Logging (e.g., ELK, EFK and Splunk), Alerting (e.g., New Relic), Configuration Management Tools (e.g., Ansible, Jenkins), API Management Tools (e.g., Apigee, API Gateway), Cloud (e.g., AWS, Google) and Databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL, Cassandra Postgres and RDS).
  • Experience with creating rich Grafana, Kibana, and new Relic visualizations and dashboards for providing key metric monitoring information to users and support staff.
  • Experience working with version control systems (e.g., GIT, subversion, or mercurial).
  • Experience working with globally diverse teams and working with vendors.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines in a distributed environment.
  • Experience with software packaging tools, security vulnerability tools (SonarQube, Fortify, BlackDuck, and SysDig), code coverage analytical tools, and monitoring tools.
