What you’ll be doing...

As the Network Assurance Manager, you will manage the New York City territory. You will be responsible for assuring day to day network performance and reliability, for best customer experience in the market. This includes the training and continued development of the workforce as well as organizing and scheduling the resources necessary to support a broad range of network elements. This also includes the timely installation and maintenance of transport facilities, software translations, hardware/software upgrades, and router/switch upgrades, IP configurations, RAN Antenna Performance and Interference troubleshooting, Cell Site Call Testing and Site Activations in the designated market regions. Equipment that this position is responsible for includes but is not limited to: BTS's, enodeB's, IBR/DAS, RRH, Small Cells, EPDR assets, IP infrastructure, routers, switches, voice mail services, EBH microwave, ADM's, DACS, MSPP, AC/DC Power Equipment.

  • Directing and supervising the Field Assurance Engineers and includes responsibilities associated with the proper integration, activation, maintenance and ongoing operations of all core RF, transport/backhaul, and data elements as well as the physical plant necessary to deliver on our network reliability brand promise.
  • Managing the operation and maintenance of all technologies necessary to expand and evolve the network to meet customer demand for new and improved service offerings.
  • Effectively interfacing and providing support to all other local departments in the organization, such as: Construction, RF, Performance, Engineering and Facilities on a daily basis to ensure growth schedules are being met.
  • Effectively interacting with HQ organizations such as NRB, NOC, Compliance and NNO Engineering and Operations.
  • Ensuring the security, safety, and environmental compliance of systems and facilities are in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Leading field engineers through change as our network and skill sets transforms.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as necessary.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Experience in networking including IP addressing, routing and Ethernet switching.
  • Knowledge of call flow for a voice and/or data session describing network elements from cell to Internet.
  • Knowledge of wireless cell site base station, router and antenna equipment.
  • Experience in the use of circuit and RAN test equipment and network monitoring applications.
  • Six or more years of experience in one or more of the following fields; wireless networks, telecommunications, radio communications, IP networks with two or more years of managerial/leadership experience.
  • Strong RF Network Performance or Networking experience.
  • Service provider experience in MSC and/or Cell Operations and Maintenance.
  • Experience with Cisco, ALU /Nokia infrastructure.
  • Leadership, managerial skills, and administrative skills.
  • Knowledge of radio transmitters, receivers, antennas, electronic theory, and applications.
  • Experience of Transmission facilities and network protocols (IP, Ethernet Backhaul, Dark Fiber).
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt changes – openness to different viewpoints and ability to learn new skills and concepts as our network transforms.
  • Coaching, feedback and teamwork skills.
