What you’ll be doing...

In the role as Principle Engineer you will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise on Samsung OSS applications. You will be a key team member driving the Samsung network projects. You will be responsible for cutting edge technology that supports our 4G and 5G OSS applications. As a Principle Engineer you will be managing and building our vendor relationships. In addition, you will be leading our First Office Application (FOA) on new platforms and software.

• Work with vendors and other internal organizations to identify any customer impacting issues and/or security vulnerabilities.
• Post advisories notifying operational and engineering teams of potential network issues.
• Provide tier 3 support for network issues across the nation and lead outage calls to ensure timely resolution
• Develop troubleshooting and best practices procedures for all supported platforms.
• Manage the relationship with Samsung to ensure a reliable network, timely delivery of new products and services and efficient rollout.
• Work with the vendors on issues and security vulnerabilities to ensure that resolution is provided quickly
• Develop and review procedures, standards, and guidelines for operational and engineering teams to follow for new products and/or services as well as maintenance
• Identify gaps or issues in existing system deployments and provide guidance for resolution
• Responsible for running nationwide configuration audits, identify severity and oversee resolution
• Utilize strong Communication skills
• Establish and build relationships with people of diverse backgrounds and professional levels.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Willingness to travel 25% of the time.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• A degree.
• Experience with Samsung vRAN 4G LTE and Samsung 5G OA&M.
• Experience with Samsung Open RAN/CPRI 4G LTE vLSM
• Experience in 5g Fixed location and 5g VSM (Virtual System Manger), Samsung VSM, and USM 2.0.
• Samsung OSS Samsung VOMA experience.
• Orchestration experience.
• VCP Edge and VCP Core experience.
• RedHat Linux knowledge.
• Open Stack experience.
• Experience with Verizon direction access method for Vendors to access the Verizon network and all Verizon security requirements.
• Knowledge of VCP Core and Edge Verizon MENO requirements
• Experience with Verizon 4G/5G network architecture, especially Samsung RAN architecture.
• Verizon EMS (Element Management System) architecture and connectivityknowledge.
• Verizon OSS tools knowledge and understanding- pulse point.
• Ability to work withresponsibilywithin Verizon's various departments to make the Verizon network more reliable and easy to manage.
• Any production issue needs to resolve right away to keep Verizon as the # 1 provider in nation.
• Ability to manage large and complex projects with Verizon open RAN environments.
