Aurelia

Access codes can be found on the Verizon Innovative Learning website. The teacher will find their access code under the Aurelia app and will find a code to give their class to log into the app. In the Aurelia Teacher app, the teacher can find a link to register for the platform if they are not already.

Where do I get a teacher/student access code?

A student will first need a Verizon Innovative Learning access code from their teacher to access the Aurelia app. Once the teacher has created a session and selected which ecosystem they want to explore, the student will enter that code into the student portion of the Aurelia app. When the student successfully joins the session, the teacher will notice the student counter increase based on the number of students who have joined the session. The teacher can then push the students into the next segment so they can start exploring the ecosystem and creating their fish.

How does a student join a session?

Yes, you will need at least two iPhones to successfully run through the full experience. One device will be logged in as the teacher and at least one other device which will be logged in as the student.

Do I need two devices to use this experience?

In the latest version of the Aurelia app, the device will automatically detect the lowest available ground plane and place the AR scene for you. It will stay anchored to this position unless a lower ground plane is detected.&nbsp;

How do I place the AR environment? 

After the student creates their fish and they are in the environment, they can tap the screen to move their fish. An indicator on screen will show the fish's target location. The fish will have to find a valid path to this location, so it may not turn directly to the location chosen by the user.

How can the student control their fish?

After the session ends, an email&nbsp;containing a CSV file with the students' entered names and the grades given to their fish&nbsp;will be sent to the address used when logging into the Aurelia Teacher app.

How do I see my students’ results?

The goal for the student is to create a fish that will be adaptable to the chosen environment. &nbsp;After creation, if the fish is not suitable for the environment the app will give hints on what the student should change to improve their grade but it does not block you from proceeding if you choose to.&nbsp;

Give your students access to this app by sharing a class access code. To best organize your codes, we suggest creating one access code per class, and using labels to help you keep track of the codes. Multiple students can use each class code.

Create new educator code

Generating a new code will automatically disable the current educator access code.

By deactivating this class code, students using this code will lose access to the app.  As an educator, you will still have access to the app with your educator code.

Disable educator code

By disabling the educator code, you may lose access to this app. To regain access, you will need to create a new educator code.

Use your educator access code to log into VIL Apps along with the email associated with your VIL account. Each educator has their own unique educator access code for each app.  Do not share the educator code with students.

Verizon Innovative Learning HQ

Share codes with other educators to allow them to access the app and view student access codes. The codes will be sent to the email recipients, but only you can edit these codes. You can share this code with educators who are not registered on this site.
