Looking Inside: Cells

With the controller in your hand, rotate so your palm is facing down to reveal a watch on your wrist and tap it with your other hand to open the toolbox.You may move the toolbox by pointing at it and holding the trigger.Aim at objects in the toolbox and squeeze the trigger to spawn an organelle.Hold the trigger while aiming at the organelle to move it to the building area. While hold it, you may also move the thumbstick to rotate it.

How do I start building a cell?

Reset your VR device tracking area using the device settings (Steam VR or Oculus settings).You may also move around freely in the virtual space if the real space you're using is large enough.

Can’t reach the building area?

Open your VR manager (Oculus or Steam button) and select close the program.

How do I exit the software?

Move the thumbstick on either controller to see the available tools and select delete to access your vacuum. Then aim at the thing you want to delete and squeeze the trigger on your controller.

How do I delete an object I don’t want?

Move the thumbstick on either controller to see the available tools and select the camera. You can also see the tools currently available for your hands on the toolbox window.Photos taken will be saved to a folder in the Looking Inside Cells application folder.

How do I take pictures inside the simulation?  Where will I find them?


	You will only get one hint each time you submit. If you have multiple things wrong with your cell, then you will only see a hint for one. 
	Number of submissions should not be counted against users.



Why do I keep getting different feedback every time I submit my cell?


	Things and points you can interact with will light up. Try to interact with them!



Why do some objects or points glow at different times?

<ul><li>Up to four (4) people can build a cell, while as many people as you want can watch and take pictures via the Spectator.</li><li>Specialized cells are only available in single player mode at this time.&nbsp;</li></ul>

Interact and collaborate with &nbsp;cellular modules in Looking Inside Cells . Working in groups of 2-4, students will put on Virtual Reality headsets and participate in simulations that include building cells from scratch, specializing those cells for unique roles in organisms, and advancing a cell through mitosis. Give your students access to this app by sharing a class access code. To best organize your codes, we suggest creating one access code per class, and using labels to help you keep track of the codes. Multiple students can use each class code.

Create new educator code

Generating a new code will automatically disable the current educator access code.

By deactivating this class code, students using this code will lose access to the app.  As an educator, you will still have access to the app with your educator code.

Disable educator code

By disabling the educator code, you may lose access to this app. To regain access, you will need to create a new educator code.

Use your educator access code to log into VIL Apps along with the email associated with your VIL account. Each educator has their own unique educator access code for each app.  Do not share the educator code with students.

Verizon Innovative Learning HQ

Share codes with other educators to allow them to access the app and view student access codes. The codes will be sent to the email recipients, but only you can edit these codes. You can share this code with educators who are not registered on this site.
