Definitely louder than the phone

I'm not disappointed. It has a nice kickstand on the back so you don't have to lay your phone face down to keep from muffling the sound and thereby risk scratching your screen. Nice sound. But that's all it is. It would be better if there was setting on it or in the mods menu to allow adjustments of bass, treble and more. But other than that it does what it does.

Must have mod!

I have had this for about a month and it is awesome! JBL isn't on the top tier of speaker quality within its market, but I am impressed with the speaker. (I wish I could have given it a 4.5 because there are improvements to be made). It is incredible loud, has a decent range of bass, and is rather clear on the music, video, and call aspects. The battery life for the mod is great, I use it through out the day many times and have not been able to get it under 70%. It does help with the phone battery on a slight scale by no longer having the main speaker perform its usual tasks for ringing and notifications, but I did wish I was backwards compatible once the phone got to an extremely low battery level. (I did allow the phone to die while the speaker was attached and the speaker did nothing). It does get a little hot, not on the explosion level though lol And I do wish the kickstand had 2 or 3 level adjustments. On a hopeful note, for a future software update, an equalizer would be amazing and make this a 5 star no problem. This little powerhouse is a great mod!

I just purchased my Moto Droid Z Force today & added the JBL SoundBoost Moto Mod. I was skeptical if such a small speaker would have good sound, well was I wrong? Heck Yea! This thing ROCKS! This was the best first purchase for my new phone! Now I want to get the projector!

Small speaker packs a punch

I ended up picking this up as an impulse by more than a necessity and am thankful I did, this little speaker can pack a punch it is nice and clear and just a fun Moto Mod to have if you listen to music or any kind of podcast.

As much as you can expect from a speaker of its size.

I have no complaints, the sound is great, of course you can get a better speaker... It will have to sync, won't be portable, and it didn't connect magnetically to your phone. Some people can't be pleased, I'd ignore them. The speaker on the Moto Z sucks, and if you don't mind the extra size and weight you should get the speaker.

Sound is great

Had for 1month. Great except if you use it gets very hot and phone does also.
