I bought this speaker a two months ago and all I cam say is wow! I have tried several other brands, by other brands but they fail in comparison to this speaker! The bass is off the charts and the speaker is crystal clear! I can hear the music so clearly that I notice sound from instruments I have never heard before! You will not be disappointed in this amazing bluetooth speaker!

better than anyone could expect!

5 out of 5 rating

The Awesome One · 2 months ago

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

Had a Charge 3, the battery went bad after 4 years of almost daily us. It performed better than expected for such a little speaker. After talking with a JBL customer service agent and determining the battery was bad, he offered me a 30% off coupon on a purchase of a new JBL product. I decided on the JBL Extreme 3, all I can say is WOW!

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

Excellent sound quality. I had the opportunity to compare with another brands (Sony SRSXB43) and this is the best. I think it would be a great idea to have a JBL app with EQ. Highly recommended speaker

Almost perfect for me

UTV Club · 3 months ago

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

The extreme is a great little speaker but fell short for me with the loudness. It sounds amazing with no back round noise, like from the inside of my UTV. If it went up another 5 more notches it would’ve impressed me 100%. Bluetooth works excellent along with every option.

Customer Support - 3 months

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. You can try using a 3rd party equalizer which you can download from Playstore or Apple App Store depending on the OS you're using.

I’m having trouble linking my Bose Soundlink Bluetooth Model 404600 to my brand new JBL Xtreme 3. The sales person at Best Buy told me this would work.  If it hadn’t I wouldn’t have bought it in the first place. Not happy. Please help.

Leon at Customer Service - 4 months

We're sorry to hear about what happened. Unfortunately, our JBL Xtreme 3 can only connect with JBL speakers that have the PartyBoost connect feature.

The new firmware update on the JBL Extreme 3 is failing to install. I am getting an error message that Internet connection is not working. But my Internet connection is fine. Please look into this.

Can you find out for me the wattage sensitivity of the Auxiliary Jack? I like to use amplified signal to splitters for aux cords, and need to be sure I can get good volume from the signal but not so much it damages the port or speaker.

Mario at Customer service - 6 months

Our JBL Xtreme 3 is strictly a line level audio input and will not handle an amplified signal well at all. We suggest using a speaker/line level converter before connecting to the Aux input.

Good day! Why is there no app and software update for xtreme 3?

Ray at Customer Support - 7 months

We have no news yet as to whether we will be releasing another update for our JBL Xtreme 3. Just to make sure you have the latest update. There are several conditions that need to be met: 1. The JBL Charge 3 must be updated using the latest firmware available through the JBL Connect App (available through Google Play and the App Store). ***NOTE*** Doing the update would change the feature of the Charge 3 to the JBL Connect+ and will no longer be able to connect to other JBL Connect speakers (eg. Flip 3, Xtreme). The update is irreversible. 2. After the update, the Charge 3 must be connected to another JBL Connect+ speaker (eg.. Xtreme 2, Boombox, another Charge 3 that has been updated) 3. The "stereo mode" is enabled inside the JBL Connect app after the connection.

Can it go into the pool water?

- 6 months

Just avoid very hot hot tubs and soap, as heat and soapy water can damage the speaker. Soap decreases the viscosity of water, I killed a 100 meter water resistant watch by showering without and washing it with soapy water. Bubble bath, for example, should be avoided if possible and rinsed immediately if you drop it in there by accident.

Yes, just make sure the charging port is closed at all times. This product is rated IPX67 which is different from IPX7. IP67 protects the product from submersion in 1 meter (3.3 feet) of water for up to 30 minutes, but it is also resistant to dust. Dust accumulation around electronics can lead to hardware failure so the IP67 rating is an extremely beneficial addition to this product.

Would this be loud enough to play walk up songs at a little league baseball and softball game? I am avoiding getting the big JBL Boombox 2 and rather get this JBL Xtreme if this works.

- 6 months

Maybe if it was quiet enough or the children are under 10 and sensitive to loudspeakers. If they are 10 or older and it is windy or near a busy road you should get the Partybox 100, 110, Partybox 200, 300, 310, or the Boombox 2. The JBL On the Go Partybox may be a great option, as it is around the same price as the Xtreme 3 but it comes with a microphone, and is louder and bigger making it a convenient option as you have the ability to announce the names of teams or athletes with the microphone etc.

This would depend on how big the area. We would recommend getting a bigger speaker to make sure the sound is able to cover the place, like our JBL Boombox series or JBL PartyBox series.
