Best Moto I've Owned

4 out of 5 rating

Matt · 5 days ago

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

After 6 weeks with the phone, this is the best Moto phone I've owned (since the original Moto X). I've had no issues with call reception or dropped calls. Additionally, connecting to any external device through bluetooth or WiFi has been problem free. I was pleased that 5G coverage in my area is very good. Battery life is fine for my needs. For reference, I took a 6 hour road trip while using Maps and streaming music the entire trip and the battery dropped about 40%. The camera is very good. It's so good that my wife insists on us using my Moto over her iPhone 12 for our pictures. To be fair, her iPhone excels at night shots. But Motorola made tremendous improvements over my last Moto Z3. Also, the stereo speakers are very good with a surprising amount of bass at about 75% volume and above. Some areas for improvement are the position of the volume and power (fingerprint read) buttons. Without a case, they're a little high and hard to find but a case solves that problem. The screen is fantastic, but I wish it were just a little brighter in when viewing in direct sunlight (a trip to the beach revealed this). Additionally, I was disappointed to discover that the Edge Plus doesn't support analogue headphones anymore (even with a USB-C dongle). So you'll have to use either bluetooth or digital headphones. Overall, while not groundbreaking, this is a very solid phone from Motorola with an almost stock android experience.

Total garbage (I'd say something else but I'm not allowed to)

Rog90 · 13 days ago

This phone is by far the worst phone I've ever had it randomly turns off and back on all by itself, it does that to me at least 3 times a day, and the screen reaction is slow sometimes or just doesn't respond at all, save yourself the trouble and headache and get something else anything else even a prepaid phone is better then this "piece of crap". I honestly wished I'd never got it.

Overall it's a good phone

4 out of 5 rating

JennMarie · 17 days ago

My Moto Z4 broke so I was forced to get a new phone and was disappointed they don't make it anymore so I chose this instead because I can't stand Apple products. Overall it's a good phone, haven't had a chance to play much with the camera, but what I have taken was very good quality. The battery life is extremely exaggerated though. While it does last a while with normal usage, doing anything serious with it zaps the battery quick! On my z4 I could listen to Pandora all day long with no issues, but on this phone after an hour of Pandora it's molten lava hot and the battery is halfway gone! I really don't get this, as Spotify doesn't cause this issue with overheating. Also, the volume on the phone itself either taking or playing music doesn't go loud enough for me but that's a personal preference. I do like the picture quality of the screen and watching movies on it, it's pretty darn clear. The lack of headphone port doesn't bother me as I use wireless headphones, but some might not like that. I just wish I could figure out why Pandora overheats this phone, I'm really sad without my tunes.

Worst Motorola phone ever

Motorola used to make excellent phones, however their quality has taken a dive. Moto Edge: doesn't receive texts, even after being replaced and upper tier tech support. Shuts off randomly, drops calls with 5 bars and won't honor warranty

Disappointed, to say the least.

1 out of 5 rating

Disappointed Customer · 29 days ago

I upgraded from a MotoZ4 to the Edge+. I mistakenly thought it would be equivalent to, or better than, my Moto Z4. Not even close! So disappointed in Motorola/Lenovo for making a lower grade product. The battery only stays charged for 5 hours MAX with "normal" use. (Nowhere near 41-52 hours). Charging overheats the battery as well. The screen is very dark if you're outside. Apps are not user intuitive. The thumbprint feature is in an awkward location, on the power button, on the side of the phone, not convenient at all. The sound quality is terrible. There is no 3.5mm head phone jack, so don't plan on using your headphones to watch movies or play games. It has bluetooth, but again, battery issues. The memory is not expandable and the OS takes up a large chunk of space before you even get going. Tons of useless iPhone type apps that no Android user wants. Overall, a waste of time, money, and energy. Keep your old phone or look at another brand. This Moto Edge+ 5g UW falls short, by miles!

No Lock screen always on display

2 out of 5 rating

Bobcat · 1 month ago

Phone seems ok, but the option of not having a lock screen that is not always on is terrible. You can't just look at the phone to see if you have a new notification like email or text. As a business user this does not work well. You have to physically touch the phone to see if you have an email or text.
