The Relevant Online Advertising program uses information Verizon has about you to help make ads you see online more interesting and useful and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
We use the information we have about your postal address, your use of Verizon products and services (such as service packages, Fios TV purchases and viewership categories such as the types of programming you watch), as well as demographic and interest information you provide or we obtain from other companies (such as gender, age range, sports fan, frequent diner, or pet owner). We may also use information that is provided by Verizon Media and by advertisers or advertising partners. We won't share information that identifies you personally with advertisers as part of this program.
Here’s an example: A local restaurant may want to advertise only to people who live within 10 miles and tend to be frequent diners, and we could help them reach that audience without sharing information that identifies you personally.
No, the Relevant Online Advertising program does not use information about non-Verizon websites you visit or your precise location. Your postal address is used.
We do not share information that identifies you personally as part of this program other than with vendors and partners who work for us. We require that these vendors and partners protect the information and use it only for the services they are providing us.
You’ll see ads on the websites you visit in the same way you see them today; however, some of the ads may be more relevant to you. For example, a business using our program could offer coupons and promotions for products or services based on your address, your interests or demographics, or your Verizon products and services.
Yes, you can choose not to participate at any time. Go to the Services area of My Verizon, click on Internet, then select the Manage Online Advertising Preferences link within My Internet Service. You will need your user ID and password to access your online account.
You will receive ads regardless of whether you participate. Some of the ads you see online may be more relevant to you if you are in the program.
