Battery Storage Unit
The Battery Storage Unit (BSU) can be added to the Small Office, Home Office Optical Network Terminal (ONT) used to provide service to customers who subscribe to three or more voice lines. When the BSU with two fully charged 12-volt batteries is added to such an ONT with an existing battery backup equipped also with fully charged 12-volt batteries, you will have up to 24 hours of backup power for basic voice service, including calls to 911.
Note: Internet and TV service will not be available during a power outage even if a fully charged battery is installed. The BSU only provides backup power for voice service.
Note: All sales are final. You cannot return the Battery Storage Unit.

Do I need a battery backup for my service?
If you have a backup battery, and do not have voice service through Verizon, or if you do not need voice service during a power outage, you can disconnect the battery.
Monitoring and maintaining the battery

Only 12-volt 8Ah sealed lead acid batteries should be used in the BSU. Batteries should be purchased just prior to replacement as12-volt batteries may not maintain their shelf life when stored.

This indicates that the ONT BSU has been reset and is ready to resume operation.
