Talking Call Waiting Talking Call Waiting, a Call Waiting enhancement, announces the second caller by name immediately after the Call Waiting tone.

When you receive a call, Talking Call Waiting provides the Call Waiting tone followed by an automated announcement of a calling party's name. You can either switch to the second caller, continue your call with the first caller, or switch between the two callers. If you do not switch to the second caller after the initial tone and announcement, you will hear a reminder tone after 10 seconds but the name of the second caller will not be announced again.

All calling features are subject to availability and compatibility restrictions.

Picking up the second call
  1. You will hear a Call Waiting tone during a call and the name of the second caller. The person calling you will hear a normal ring until you answer.


  2. Inform your first caller that you have another call.


  3. Press and then release your phone's receiver, Flash or Recall button to put the first caller on hold.
    You are automatically connected to the second caller.

If you hang up when you hear the Call Waiting tone, your phone will ring.

You can ignore the second call if you do not want to be interrupted. You will hear a reminder tone after 10 seconds but the name of the second caller will not be announced again.

If the first caller hangs up, you will be automatically connected to the second caller within two seconds.

Returning the first call from the second call
  1. Press and then release your phone's receiver, Flash, or Recall button to put the second caller on hold.
    You are automatically connected to the first caller.


  2. Repeat step 1 to alternate between the two calls.

Temporarily deactivating Talking Call Waiting
You can deactivate Talking Call Waiting for the duration of one call. When you complete your call and hang up, Talking Call Waiting is reactivated automatically.

  1. Lift your telephone's receiver and listen for the dial tone.


  2. Press *7 0 to temporarily cancel Talking Call Waiting.
    Dial 1170 on rotary or pulse-dialing phones.


  3. Listen for three tones followed by a normal dial tone.


  4. Dial the number you want to call.
