What you’ll be doing...

The Distinguished Architect reports directly to the Associate Director to fulfill the role of trusted adviser for Verizon Enterprise on key clients’ deals. The Distinguished Architect will also work with the leadership team to help drive strategic initiatives across the vertical Solutions Architecture team. The Distinguished Architect works with key business stakeholders and subject matter experts to build a holistic view of the client strategy, processes and information technology assets. The role of the Distinguished Architect is to leverage this knowledge to ensure that the client’s ongoing business requirements and the End to End Solution are in alignment throughout the lifecycle of the contract.

The Distinguished Architect provides support on large, complex customer engagements, putting together solutions across multi-towers (e.g., Cloud, Security, Professional Services, UC&C), supporting literature, diagrams, write-up, responses, etc. Importantly, the Distinguished Architect must continually develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the industry and Verizon systems, processes, product offerings and services to enable effective client communications.

You’ll need to have...

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
  • Experience selling, designing, or consulting on technical enterprise business solutions.
  • Willingness to travel.


Even better if you have...

  • A degree.
  • Experience designing IT and/or managed telecommunications solutions (ideally, from concept development through implementation).
  • Experience proposing, selling, and/or implementing large complex enterprise-wide technology solutions to Fortune 500 companies (ideally, “big 5” consulting experience).
  • Experience project managing large-scale complex enterprise-wide technology solutions.
  • Experience building business cases incorporating cost analysis and ROI.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of one or more of the following: data and IP services (VoIP, MPLS, VPN, Internet), managed network services (LAN, WAN, content delivery, WLAN, managed IP PBX), managed security solutions (firewall, proxy, VPN), managed mobility Solutions, data center outsourcing (cloud, application hosting, managed storage), call center technologies (ACD, IVR, customer portal, WFM), or IT applications management (SOA, web services, RTE).
