What you’ll be doing...

Operational Assurance (OA) is accountable for the governance of operational risk across the VBG organization. As a Manager-Risk Management for Contract Analytics & Compliance in OA, the candidate will be tasked with analyzing complex business processes to identify real and potential financial, operational, legal, regulatory or reputational risks using contract analytic tools and partner with business unit leaders to identify and mitigate risks facing the business unit. The selected candidate will leverage business intelligence and contract analytic tools to significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes. The candidate would also conduct reviews to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance, maximize revenue opportunities and reduce business costs.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Analyze complex business problems using data from internal and external sources to provide strategic and actionable business insights with the overarching goal to reduce operational risk across the Verizon Business Group organization.
  • Work with Legal, Sales, Finance and other business areas to understand requirements and build custom analytic policies in contract analytics software(Seal software)that analyze complex contracts and obligations based on an understanding of contract provisions, requirements and service level agreements.
  • Leverage Qlik to develop custom reports for analysis and data validation.
  • Identify critical contract language to answer routine contract questions more efficiently (e.g. contract end date, volume commitments, underutilization charges, credits, early termination fees).
  • Identify duplicate and/or conflicting provisions across contracts, templates, and playbooks.
  • Perform a range of “gap analysis” reviews, e.g., between customized and standard versions of service terms or older and current versions of service terms.
  • Actively support the contract digitization aspect of a unified customer profile by making strategic recommendations based on available data.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years of experience with business intelligence tools (such as Tableau, Cognos, Qlik) and contract management & analysis tools (such as Seal Software, Apttus, ContractLogix, Icertis Contract Management, etc.), including business/technical functionality
  • Four or more years of experience in contract provisions and their impact from a legal, financial and business perspective
  • Four or more years of experience in developing reports and dashboards for business users

Even better if you have:

  • A degree
  • Detail-oriented approach, excellent follow through, ability to multi-task, manage projects in a collaborative environment
  • Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server, Microsoft Office, MS Visio, MS Project and Google Suite
  • Experience with Qlik reporting platform
  • Strong knowledge of statistical software (such as R, SAS, SPSS, Python)
  • Experience preparing and delivering training on complex BI tools to non-technical end-users
  • Quantitative and analytical skills, including ability to conduct research, analyze data, and use tools effectively to develop models and drive analyses
  • Ability to engage and influence large teams and functional leaders
  • Excellent presentation skills, including ability to create presentations using MS Power Point and experience presenting to all levels of an organization
  • Strong communication skills as demonstrated by an ability to interpret, document and explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization
