What you’ll be doing...

Our customers demand and deserve a better experience when it comes to illegal, fraudulent, and nuisance calls. In this role, you will develop and provide direction to combat robocalling. Specifically, your focus will be to evolve and enhance Verizon’s network across consumer, enterprise, and wholesale to provide improved protections, capabilities, and solutions to combat robocalling. An aspect of this role will be an advocate to ensure Verizon’s view and policies are aligned with industry groups, standards bodies, regulatory agencies, and our various customer bases. Thought and execution leadership are required to drive Verizon as a leading provider of solutions (network based, application based, 3rd party provided). This space will demand a strong leaders as there are many different pressures, challenges, and requests to create and deploy solutions.

  • Performing the analysis, formulating a recommendation, developing the plan, and drive the execution to deliver the solution.
  • Setting an example as a strong yet empathetic people leader that continuously develops and evolves the team, pushes individuals to deliver to their full potential, and drives the team to deliver incremental value.
  • Looking forward with a vision that expands the robocall protection role and requirements.
  • Working with a passion across organizations and teams as you will be required to develop early stage ideas and push others to adopt the approach, provide feedback and commentary on proposals from others.
  • Working with, collaborating, and driving other organizations to deliver on the robocall needs of the business.
  • Providing required administration across the team including: capital and expense budget management and IT project initiation and delivery.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience managing large cross-functional or enterprise-wide projects.
  • Experience in network engineering and/or operations systems and processes.

Even better if you have:

  • Knowledge of telecommunications standards, protocols, and practices, wireless and wireline network designs, and equipment technologies – telecom networking, IP networks and technologies, equipment designs, translations and configuration procedures, and inventory databases.
  • Knowledge of various call flows and network technologies including: TDM, VoIP, IMS networks and applications, SIP peering/interconnect, call routing, and ENUM based routing.
  • Strong SBC, PCRF, TAS (application server) network knowledge.
  • Experience deploying virtualized network applications on Verizon’s VCP.
  • Knowledge of 3rd party robocall providers like TNS/Cequent, First Orion, or Hiya.
  • Knowledge of fraudulent and illegal behaviors.
  • Strong technical and project management capabilities.
  • Organizational skills – ability to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion.
  • Experience in CI/CD and Agile work environments.
  • Ability to script or develop code.
  • Willingness and proven track record to build partnerships and successful collaborations.
  • Previous network planning and engineering responsibility.
