What you’ll be doing...

The Consumer Device Marketing Team is responsible for developing and marketing products and services to help differentiate the nation’s best network. Through external and internal partnerships, we identify and launch opportunities in the marketplace to drive innovation and growth.Within this organization resides a growing suite of financial services, including the recently launched Verizon Visa® Credit Card.These products offer financing solutions and value-added benefits to Verizon customers in order to drive revenue expansion and loyalty.

Our team is seeking an experienced marketer and self-starter who can work with external partners, and cross-functionally within Verizon to support growing our footprint in the financial services space.You will report to the Director of Product Marketing and Product Management, and support a range of innovation and growth delivering opportunities across a suite of leading-edge services.

  • Evaluate a range of new strategic marketing opportunities to drive revenue growth, churn reduction and accomplish other critical business objectives. Will include strategic sizing of the market opportunity, business case model creation, partnership identification and contract negotiation, development of go-to-market plans, and other activities.

  • Deploy and drive initiates into the market through internal and external partnerships.

  • Work across Verizon functional teams to establish work-streams that translate recommended plans into deployable initiatives.

  • Partnering with cross-functional Verizon stakeholders and external financial services providers in order to launch category expansion initiatives.

  • Support Director in developing and presenting to senior management financial summaries, business updates, and strategic growth opportunities.Work with external and internal partners to source critical information to inform these reviews.

  • Oversee program reporting and dashboard measurement to identify areas of opportunity, and support departmental budgets including operating plan, capital expenditures, T&E, etc...

  • Interface across external and internal parties to research and resolve identified customer escalations and communicate back resolution path.

  • Facilitate team effectiveness and collaboration across product management and product marketing. Drive visibility, organization and foster cross-team engagement.

What we’re looking for...

Effective strategic thinking, communication and collaboration and driving initiatives to market on time and on-budget. Experience deploying initiatives from concept and ideation, through to launch. Comfort working in undefined white-space territory and putting in place strategies, plans and selling in recommendations. Comfort with numbers and ability to draw insights from data. You have a proven history of identifying strategic business opportunities. Experience in the payment products space and knowledge of financial services industry dynamics, trends and opportunities is also highly valued.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance, Economics, or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience and previous role(s) in Product Marketing.

  • Experience working with external partners and engaging in business development and category expansion activities.

  • Experience creating business cases and selling-in opportunities to management for approval.

  • Experience sourcing and analyzing data and making recommendations based on identified opportunities.

  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience in the financial services space.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration and problem solving skills.

  • MBA or comparable Master's degree in Marketing, Finance, Business, or Economics.

  • Management consulting experience.

  • Proficient at storytelling and ability to articulate a narrative with data in an easy-to-understand manner.
