What you’ll be doing...

The Sr Manager – Network Performanceposition is accountable for the network reliability and performance of the RAN network and responsible for leading the performance team supporting the Dallas Ft Worth, northeast Texas and northern Louisiana areas.This role includes the training and continued development of that workforce along with organizing and scheduling the resources necessary to support a broad range of network elements and disciplines.The position will be located in the Irving, TX office.

Major responsibilities of this position and the department will be:

  • Evaluating KPI’s of the 4G and 5G Ultra wideband networks and improving them for mobility and fixed wireless services
  • Identifying major and chronic performance issues and prioritizing efforts to resolve them
  • Collaborating with RF to guide designs and modifications that support industry-leading performance
  • Partnering with Sales leaders to incorporate customer feedback into plans and to share status and intended performance impact of upcoming projects
  • Evaluating results from 3rd party competitive benchmarking services to identify weaknesses and find ways to improve performance overall
  • Supporting the efforts of performance engineers as they investigate and resolve customer complaints by using post-processing and mapping tools to determine root causes
  • Steering efforts for audit and configuration of the network to SON to improve the effectiveness of the teams and allow quicker optimization for our customers
  • Evaluating the performance and designs of sites and DAS systems at mass calling events
  • Understanding vendor roadmaps and conducting trials in conjunction with HQ teams for hardware, software, parameters, and features that could be applicable and beneficial to customers
  • Collaborating with other Network groups and other sub-markets to identify and socialize best practices
  • Presenting and communicating recommendations, new technologies, action plans, and results to regional and senior leaders
  • Working with vendors to evaluate new potential tools or services that could improve regional performance or assist regional performance engineers. Particularly support development of the 5G ecosystem for the Network Performance teams
  • Identifying gaps in knowledge and creating training curriculum to help the teams meet regional goals
  • Develop team members in preparation for their next position whether it is advancement or progression into peripheral roles

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Networking or Computer Science or four or more years of experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Five or more years of wireless engineering experience.
  • Experience working an RF or Performance.
  • Two years of experience with LTE RAN System Performance.
  • Experience communicating to excellence, demonstrating company values and policies, initiating action, accepting responsibility for results, and making quality decisions
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travelup to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you haveone or more of the following:

  • Electrical engineering degree preferred with focus on communications and RF
  • Master’s degree.
  • Electrical experience with focus on communications and RF.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude, be results-based, and maintain a solutions-orientedmindset.
  • Technical, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Time and task management skills
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience presenting authoritative technical material to a large audience of engineering and management
  • Two or more years of demonstrated managerial/leadership experience.
  • Experience managing remote teams.
  • Experience with DAS path-balancing and optimization
  • Experience with Nokia and Samsung LTE RAN technology
  • Experience with SDN and NFV.
  • Experience in networking including IP addressing, routing and Ethernet switching.
  • Experience and knowledge of Transmission facilities and network protocols (IP, Ethernet Backhaul, Dark Fiber).
  • Knowledge of LTE/5G RAN and Core technologies, Fiber systems, UNIX and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of 4G and 5G call flows for voice and/or data session describing network elements from cell to internet.
  • Excellent troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Experience in process engineering, financial analysis, innovative thought.
  • Proven track record of managing deliverables and meeting timelines and strong project management skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed.
