What you’ll be doing...

As part of the Media Platforms team, we are shaping the future of how Verizon Consumer Group uses media and connections to fuel company growth. We are seeking a media expert & leader to join our passionate team and lead media strategy for Mobility initiatives. As a Media Strategy Manager (Equivalent to an agency Director/VP) you will partner with the Consumer Business Unit and the rest of the Central Marketing Organization to drive awareness, demand, engagement and ultimately loyal consumption of our products and services.

As a member of this fast-paced and energetic team, you will be responsible for shaping the media strategy and driving the execution of key consumer initiatives. This role requires the ability to synergize efforts across paid-owned-earned for maximum impact. We’re ultimately looking for a smart marketer with strong paid media expertise. Reporting to the lead of Mobility Media, you will partner with a broad & cross-functional set of talented stakeholders to:

  • Own strategy, planning and tactical execution for Mobility media efforts each quarter and/or promotional period
  • Partner with business and promo leads to define the strategic role of media for business objectives
  • Drive execution of large scale media initiatives, with an eye for performance & optimization
  • Act as the cross-team leader, integrating all aspects of media to define and execute Mobility campaigns (Creative, Social, Media Analytics, Sponsorship, Experiential, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Integrated Marketing, Marketing Activation, and Creative to jointly deliver all key initiatives
  • Lead media agency relationship and collaborate with internal programmatic Center of Excellence, providing clear briefing and direction
  • Manage cross-team delivery of campaign reporting, insights and optimization
  • Identify and implement innovation and thought leadership within campaigns and across the Media Team
  • Execute best-in-class budget management including reconciliation and invoice approval
  • Establish and refine processes for executional excellence

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint, along with presentation skills
  • Media Agency or Client experience with awareness, consideration and/or direct response capacity.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Six years of consumer marketing or media experience, with a focus on strategy
  • Experience in developing data driven media strategies and strong digital media acumen (knowledge of programmatic, geo and hyper-targeting, retargeting)
  • Experience in both national and local media
  • Experience collaborating with creative teams for joint, idea-led media plans
  • Experience in channel agnostic mindset withdeveloping local campaigns, special emphasis on digital acquisition and/or demand generation
  • Ability to understand business strategies and translate the desired business outcomes to media actions
  • Resilience in a fast-paced and performance-oriented environment abilities.
  • Ability to manage through ambiguity and balance multiple dynamic priorities
  • Driving results and innovating along the way abilities
