What you’ll be doing...

This opportunity is for Military personnel who are current participants of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program or are participants of the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 3-2022.

Youwill be a member of the Global Supply Chain Manufacturing Operation Team. The PM is the primary responsible party in Supply Chain for the launch and lifecycle management of new products for Verizon. You will be the chief liaison between Product Development, Engineering, Marketing, Field Operations, Sourcing, Logistics, Distribution and Verizon’s suppliers of these new and exciting products. Strong communication and influence skills are required to ensure supply chain is ready to launch on time, cost and quality. Technical understanding is required to actively participate in design review meetings and to help drive product development in a direction to improve production and quality.

Youwill work with suppliers on all deliverables to bring products to market including bill of material (BOM) risk & cost analysis, prototype and pre-production build planning, material-procurement readiness, manufacturing quality and test plans. You will use your supply chain technical skillset to provide input on manufacturing, planning, operation, logistics, cost and quality. You will represent Supply Chain to cross-functional program team to ensure all stakeholder requirements are properly communicated and delivered by Supply Chain.

  • The overall core-responsibility for this role is to ensure that the Verizon Supply Chain is ready to support new product go-to-market programs. The PM is responsible for delivering new products to Verizon customer’s on-time, within budget, and with exceptional quality and reliability

  • Participate in early-stage product development meetings to ensure our requirements are accurately captured and met.

  • Guide the supply chain teams to achieve system, manufacturing and operational readiness for new products.

  • Work with key strategic manufacturing partners to ensure production capability is developed on schedule and within budget. Ensuring ramp to full-scale production with excellent outbound quality metrics.

  • Partner with Manufacturer and product teams to achieve desired results on design for cost, quality and reverse logistics.

  • Responsible for identifying and resolving cross functional issues that may impact product introduction.

  • Track and manage key program issues, clearly articulating impacts, next steps and owners. Escalate project issues that cannot be resolved.

  • Conduct project retrospectives and compiling lessons learned and integrate into processes and templates.

  • Use customer data to influence development schedules and features on new products.

  • Facilitate meetings, building positive relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and management, and developing new product introduction process documentation and metrics.

  • Provide program readouts to supply chain leaders.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Must be a current participant of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program or of the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 3-2022
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and to travel up to 20% of the time.

  • Understanding of Supply Chain and Product Development best practices; understanding common needs and challenges of the business.

Even better if you have:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in engineering or supply chain management.

  • Supply Chain or Project Management professional certification.

  • Supplier management experience.

  • Lean Six Sigma experience.

  • Sourcing experience.

  • Commodity management experience.

  • Experience reading engineering drawings.

  • Experience with SAP & Agile PLM.
