Enterprise Messaging is a Verizon-branded mobile messaging platform that lets enterprise business customers (100 or more corporate subscribers) send high volumes of text messages to support XML, SNPP, WCTP and SMTP protocols.

Yes, subscribers receiving messages that your company sends through Enterprise Messaging will be charged standard messaging rates according to their messaging plan. These messages aren't considered Mobile to Mobile messages.

These are acronyms for Internet protocols which support paging and email messaging. They can also be used to send text messages to mobile devices. They stand for:

• Extensible Markup Language (XML)
• Simple Network Paging Protocol (SNPP)
• Wireless Communication Transfer Protocol (WCTP)
• Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP)

Enterprise Messaging is designed for businesses and institutions to send alerts, updates or campaigns to their distribution lists of Verizon mobile subscribers that have opted in to receive the company's messages. Enterprise Messaging can't be used to send unsolicited (SPAM), objectionable or illegal messages. Use of Enterprise Messaging is subject to industry (MMA, CTIA) and Verizon content standards.

Enterprise Messaging provides businesses with 100 or more corporate subscribers that have executed a Major Account Agreement and Enterprise Messaging Agreement with direct text messaging access to Verizon mobile subscribers who have opted in to receive the enterprise's content.

To purchase Enterprise Messaging, you must be a Verizon mobile business customer with 100 or more corporate subscribers and a valid Major Account Agreement. You'll also need:

• A signed Enterprise Messaging Agreement
• Static/Public Internet Protocol (IP) terminal for Enterprise Messaging provisioning
• A Verizon-provided password for access to the secure Enterprise Messaging online portal

Verizon will provide you with a pilot mobile phone activated on an Enterprise Messaging Plan.

The Enterprise Messaging pilot mobile phone is used for:

• Billing the service to your account
• Serving as a security credential to identify an authorized contact from your company as a trusted user of the platform
• Automated password resets associated with the Enterprise Messaging online portal

The pilot mobile phone should always be kept in a secure place.

Enterprise Messaging can be used to send messages to Verizon mobile subscribers.

Your company can send messages to any of your corporate subscribers. You can also send messages to other Verizon mobile subscribers, provided you establish a process for them to opt-in to receive your messages.
