This is a great phone for anyone looking to have simply talk and text. It allows you to take apps off and disable the browser, it allows you to put that behind a code, so that an employers or parent is the only person who can add back on Internet access. It is also very durable and water resistant, I am very thankful to have found it, it is such a peace of mind to have such a durable, distraction free way for people to reach me.

Can not stand this phone,mainly the prediction mode of text instead of T9. Why should i type two letters such as ''in" and come up with "generator", or "to" and come up with "tomorrow" and then have to scroll through five to ten words to select the one I typed in. It tries to be a smart phone and fails miserably.i bought it because of its ruggedness but have decided I am money ahead to replace twenty, $14.00 plain simple flip phones for the same price of $280.00. then pay a $50.00 + upgrade fee when I as a customer feel like it is a downgrade over the previous model.Each time the new model comes out it is lesser than it's previous model in too many ways to mention. Doesn't even come close to the old Motorola model it replaced not even a half way decent camera>

The latest predictive text entry solution on DuraXV Extreme+ is designed to learn your word usage over time and adapt to it, so it should become more convenient as you use it. Make sure that "Learn new words" is turned on. To do this, start entering text in Prediction mode, then press the Left Soft Key. Select "0. Text Options." Select "1. Learn new words" and turn it On. So far so good....only thing is having to manually turn off and on the wifi calling. But thats only a minor irritation that can be lived with. We needed a rugged phone that he wouldnt break easily. We shall see how it holds up as rtime goes on.

Thanks for your purchase and for leaving this 5-star review. Without more information, it's difficult to determine the need to turn on and off Wi-Fi calling. However, you can make doing so easier by assigning a programmable button!

1. From the Home Screen, open the Menu
2. Select Settings & tools
3. Select Settings
4. Select Programmable keys
5. Choose a preferred key then select it
6. Choose Call Settings to program this shortcut

Now, you can press and hold your selected programmable key to launch Call settings for faster access to Wi-Fi calling options! Kyocera

Lost of some options with newer model

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

I was glad that I could still get the same type of phone. However as a newer version of my previous phone it did lose some functionality that I had before with the old phone. One of these is the option to forward photos received with texts to my gallery. Another is to be able to select a different ringtone for specific contacts. The ability to select text messages to delete instead of deleting one text at a time. These are just a few.

Never got my purchase. Verizon makes you sign for delivery through Fed-Ex. Fed-Ex tried to deliver on Tuesday at 11am, we were at work. No attempt was made to deliver on Weds.. Wife stayed home on Thursday. Friday they attempted at 1pm, again we were at work. Noted said, 3rd and final attempt and that they will be returning it to sender. There was no 3rd attempt as I have to 2 sticky door tags and camera footage to show only 2 attempts. Between Fed-Ex and Verizon, they need to get there customer care back in order. So, for now, I still do not have the phone I ordered, in which I paid outright for...

Yes, DuraXV Extreme+ has a Music Player which can play music stored on the phone or an SD card. It can also play streaming music from web pages using the Browser. However, if you don't want to allow browsing the Internet, the Browser can be disabled using a built-in feature called Device Control. The feature can be found under Settings&tools->Business tools->Device Control. Here is a link to information about how to use this Device Control feature. Can I turn predictive text off?

Yes, you can select a different text entry mode when using the DuraXV Extreme+. You can do this from inside a text entry field. Press the Left Soft Key and select "Abc" mode instead of Prediction mode. There are other useful text entry modes there, too, like "123" and "Symbols."

Can you block this phone from accessing the web and thus not use cellular data?

Yes, DuraXV Extreme+ does have a setting which will allow you to turn off "Mobile data access." If you want to go further than that and prevent unauthorized users from turning mobile data back on, there is another feature that you could use. The phone comes with a feature called Device Control which can be used to hide apps like the browser and email, and to disable data access. This may meet your needs if you are technically savvy and have some time to configure the phone. The feature can be found under Settings&tools->Business tools->Device Control.
