Easy Transition From Previous Phone

Great phone! I purchased this phone for my 74 year old Dad who does not want a "smart phone". His previous phone was a Kyocera DuraXV and it stopped holding a charge after 10 years of use. Yes, this phone DOES have an SD card slot in it so I was able to transfer his contacts and photos over to this new phone very easily via the SD card from his previous phone. My Dad loves the weather app feature on this phone and it was easy to add the cities he likes to follow. It has a single button on the front that does two things. If you press and hold it for a few seconds, it will turn on the camera flash so you can use it as a light. If you press the button 3 times, it will call a special contact you have assigned to the "Quick Call" feature. You don't even have to open the phone as it will use the speakerphone to make this call. We both thought this was very cool and my Dad uses it to call my Mom when he is in the grocery store looking for things. Considering my Dad is not very tech savvy, I did the complete phone setup for him but he is easily picking up how to use it. The phone is thin without feeling fragile. The calls are clear, the buttons are easy to read, and the screen text can be enlarged. It can browse the web and it has a YouTube app. Service depends on your location in relation to the cell towers, but his town gets decent service. It does not come with a physical user manual. My Dad is old school and wanted one so I found it online and printed it off for him. Durability stands to be tested as he hasn't had the phone for very long. I did buy him an American flag phone case that has a textured surface for better grip.

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

it is simple. it takes calls and that is what i want. it does messaging which i am not interested in, it is compact and that is what i want. i like my DUMB phone, i don't want or need a smart phone

New TCL FLIP PHONE seems to have a lot more to it than my 4 year old flip phone. The only down side was someone sold my phone number to telemarketer bombarding me with calls so, I've had to keep it turned off.

Finally worked out the problem with the credit card charges. The statements could have been handled with all the information on charges in one place and with the explanation why it appeared to me that Verizon had changed the payment method. I think that everything could have been avoided with some thought as to how long the account has been open with direct payments and then, maybe, this misunderstanding could have been avoided. I surely wish I could have avoided buying this phone altogether but the old one was broken. And, I don't like this change where I have to repeat everything agin!

I asked for a phone that had ONLY text and calls, NO internet. This phone does more. I also suspect it isn't tracking things properly like my data??? My idea was a phone for a kid that ONLY does talk and text. Does that exist? maybe a slide phone with a keyboard top make texting easier??? Just saying because you asked.
